Owner description: When we opened our place in 2011, our mission was to provide a support center for bicycle commuters in our city. We connected with people like us: people who love to ride bikes and want to learn more about them. Over the years our business has grown, but that love of the ride is still at the heart of everything we do. Today we serve every need L.A. has when it comes to bicycling in our city. Not only do we provide commuter parking and amenities, but we welcome cyclists new and experienced alike to shop our bikes and retail, book a tour of the city, and bring their bikes in for repairs. The pros at The Bike Center are ready to welcome you to the family and help you with anything you need.
Useful Information: Food available for purchase, Wheelchair access, Activities for older children, Activities for young children, Stroller parking, Bathroom facilities

Had a great time doing a full day of 2 tours with this company. Started the morning with the walking food tour. It's more than a food tour. The food stops were delicious (obviously) but what made it special was our guide, Gary. Gary is both knowledgeable and passionate about the Santa Monica neighborhood, often sharing many interesting facts of the area. The tour goes at a comfortable pace, giving ample time to absorb the sights, sounds and taste of the food and neighborhood. We also learned interesting snippets of history and culture like the Shotgun houses and Tongvan people who lived in the area before White settlers came.

We so enjoyed our tour with Gary that we asked him to plan for us another tour for us that afternoon to get to know the region better. He came up with a wonderful biking tour which combined history, street art and culture of Venice with delicious desserts. Cute animals like Mallard ducks were an added bonus.

Gary was both professional and personable. Great day out!

My dad and I rented two bikes with batteries for 2 hours. The gal who waited on us was very helpful in explaining were the places to ride were and the laws about bikes on sidewalks. It was a great day to ride along the beach.

No trip to Santa Monica is complete without bike rental. Rent a bike and head to Venice Beach and Marina Del Rey. Take your time stopping along the way to eat and soak in the sights! Fun, fun, fun!

We reserved our bikes ahead of time and requested phone mounts. The staff were very friendly, but reserving did not seem to do much good because we had to wait 20 minutes as the pulled our bikes and set them up... also they could not attach the phone mount on one of the bikes... should probably not offer it as an add on. The options for bikes ranged from cruisers to city bikes,  road bikes and even electric assist. Really nice and wide bike only lanes in the area. Unfortunately the visibility was about 50 feet. We thought the fog would burn off by noon, but no...

very good bikes
very friendly and professional staff
on the second day loaned us 2 complimentary rentals because my deposit had not been taken into account on the bill from day 1.This avoided much paperwork and was a break on the day 2 rental price.
