“Nice view but not worth the $$”

Way too expensive, but you're paying for the view. My fish tacos were actually pretty good but way overpriced. They also want $49 for a 1lb lobster when you can get the same for around $29. White sangria was good and was actually fairly priced at $6 a glass. Your basic margarita started at$10. They also throw in a "free" post card with your picture, but want you to buy the larger prints too... If ur here for the view, ok but it you want good Mexican go elsewhere.

“Nice view...that's about it.”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I was hungry after walking along the boardwalk and on the lovely Santa Monica pier. I thought a restaurant on the end of the pier would be an expensive tourist trap and, in my opinion, it was. The drink prices were about as much as my expensive hotel and the food came out so fast it made me think of a fast food restaurant. if one isn't discriminating about their food and wallet than enjoy the wonderful view.

“Bring your passport!”

Unfortunately we were not able to have a drink in this restaurant as they didn't accept UK/ European driving licence cards as suitable proof of age (we are 28).

Waiter was rather rude and unhelpful.

Very disappointed.

Great venue and real holiday atmosphere. I am not an expert on Mexican food but we enjoyed our meal. Speedy service.

“Nice view....that's about it.....”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

I had been driven to do Venice Beach and Santa Monica pier on this trip to LA. First thing -- avoid taking a cab from downtown - anywhere.

We got dropped off in the middle of Venice Beach, and walked towards the Santa Monica pier where we had lunch at Mariasol Cocina Mexicana. I'm not a big Mexican food lover, but I do appreciate good tacos.

We arrived, made our drink orders of varied and sundry margaritas. Tortilla chips were fast, along with a pleasant salsa. Margaritas were pretty watered down, and service was remarkably slow. My shrimp tacos were unremarkable.

Total damage for lunch for two? $105.91.....

Margaritas are expensive, and when you have to drink a few because you're waiting, and they're mostly water, you order more....

Oh yeah -- and they've got two other issues of disturbing lunch. A really pathetic mariachi couple, and pigeons that love to dine on the tables after guest have left, as servers can pull the food off soon enough, and the pigeons have gotten used to it.
