“Pretentious restaurant, ironic waitress”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

We stopped at this restaurant after a long drive, we were hungry and tired and after looking through the menu we decided to order pizza and Italian beer. The waitress made subtle though noticeable sarcastic comments about our choice, as if upset because the bill wouldn't be too high and thus her tip. We did not feel comfortable at all with this. If they think pizza is not as sophisticated as they try to be, they should remove it from the menu! By the way, pizzas were not very good. The only good thing was the location and that it is not very pricy.

“Perfect Italian”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

We have visited this Italian several times in the last few years when shopping on Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica when visiting one of our sons who now lives in LA. It is located on a large corner site with some seating outside but mostly inside. We recently dropped in for a light lunch and decided to take the cold buffet as an entree. We helped ourselves from the large choice of salads, meats and fish and this was just what we wanted. They are happy for you to take second helpings and as the plate sizes are small, we took advantage of this. Helpings in the US are generally on the too large size so we have learnt that either sharing plates or somewhere you can help yourself works best for us. The waitress, Nancy, then suggested the tiramisu as a dessert which we shared. This was fantastic! Prices here are very reasonable and we will be back.

“Good Food and Service”
Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

I guess we got lucky the night we visited this eatery based on the other reviews. The ravioli, sea bass, and wine was very good and our waitress was attentive. We had no complaints!

“Pretty but pricy...”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

My friend and i stopped to check the menu, and a woman waiting nearby told us how good it was. We were doubtful, but hungry so in we went. She was right. Good food. Good service. But a bit slow and pricey - I guess that's expected for a touristy area. The appetizers were best, the entrees good and the deserts ok.

I didn't see any celebrities, but then I didn't know until afterwards that folks to see and be seen...

“Lovely Labor Day Luncheon”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

This was my first time here but it came highly recommended. They have a wonderful menu and there is even a page for "quick lunches" and they promise to have you served and gone within 30 minutes if you so choose. We did not. For an appetizer we had the Cold Buffet Salad and it was amazing. Brussel sprouts with goat cheese and strawberries, green beans with yogurt sauce, and mozzerella cheese salad a just a few of the choices we had. Our main courses were just as special and delicious. All this, along with a lovely decor made for a wonderful luncheon while on the 3rd St Promenade in Santa Monica. Our waitress was a bit preoccupied and unattentive considering it was not at full capacity, however In spite of her aloof attitude I would highly recommend this restaurant and plan to visit again in the near future. There is no children's menu. The value is fantastic and we all enjoyed our meals.
