Great local spot for lunch, the sandwiches here are amazing. All the bread is freshly made that day and the serving sizes really generous for a lunchtime snack. My salmon baguette was fresh and tasty. Only criticism is that many locals don't seem to heed the rules of ordering prior to finding a table - as such it can be difficult to get a seat.

The Green Eggs & Ham - much lauded and well deserved. Great combination of peppery arugula, salty prosciutto, rich pesto and fried eggs. One the best breakfast meals I've had to rival the wonderful cafes in Melbourne.

Salmon Platter was good too, although not particularly unique as I've had similar elsewhere.

Nonetheless they will have something that suits you, a drink to wash it down with, and bakery items to takeaway for your snacks later.

Had croque madame and a side of bread pudding. It was sooo good. Arrive early, or you'll have to wait in line for a table.

Well worth the trip even if this place is a hike from where you're staying in the Santa Monica or Westwood areas. The choices are unusual, fresh, and delicious. The baked goods are outstanding. We went twice during our stay in the area. There's a long line on Sunday mornings, but the staff has a great system for getting groups through the line and figuring out seating options. Very "Californian."

Love this place. It reminded me a lot of the now long dead bay area institution, Cafe Fanny. Baked goods were awesome. Food to order was also good. House made granola was delicious. Coffee also very wonderful. No Chai, though. Oh, and yes, they have mimosas. I had one at 8am. It was delicious.
