After a big day of sight seeing and shopping, we wanted to find a good mexican restaurant before heading home to Australia. Good concierge at Hilton DoubleTree suggested the Market - a modern shopping mall near the Santa Monica beach, just 5 minutes stroll from the hotel. So after dragging the female section of the family away from yet more good sales in the numerous stores, we walked up to the La Sandia desk and asked for a table for 5, and were informed of a 15 minute wait - so off we went to look at .....yep - more shops! When we returned our table was ready in a well designed relaxed interior. There was a feeling of privacy due to the good layout, that had noise down to a minimum. Our waiter was very knowledgable and his recommendations were good. Fresh home made corn chips and salsa arrived (free - doesn't seem to happen in Australia) while we tried the local drinks - wow, the margaritas are good!
Mains were good sized servings (didn't dare an entree after the very addictive corn chips and salsa) so then it was "well, what the hell" on to desserts! Great reasonably priced meal with tip for 5 came to $150 - strongly recommended.
