Lobster roll good, but sadly small. Bouillabaisse has been better, not sure what happened. This place is very loud, don't expect intimate dinner. Overall food is good, atmosphere fun and energetic.

This place called to us, given its beach side location and alluring seafood menu

some item we had were really good like the lobstrer Mac and cheese, but some other pasta items were a bit lacking

we left with the sense that seafood great but other items not so much

would revisit again and again though as its really good and fair prices

Thank Mark J

This place has so much going for it. Prime spot facing the Ocean. Cleverly and comfortably designed dining room. Staff looks like they just jumped out of an Abercrombie ad. Sidewalk seating. Reasonable prices. Oh- and the food. Where to start. Everything was so delicious! Don't miss the mussels in curry sauce and get some extra bread to soak up the leftover sauce. Our party of 9 had a whole variety of items, one better than the next. Can't wait to go back on our next trip to LA!

Once you have tried it, you would never change restaurant. Informal atmosphere, but very high quality of dishes! My favorites were lobster mac&cheese and fish&chips.

Put our name in at 6 pm and were seated at 8:30 pm. I know what you are thinking, "nobody is going to enjoy a meal after waiting 2 1/2 hours." We were a festive group and barhopped for a few rounds, so the wait did not freak us out. We were a little miffed when the hostess told us they started accepting reservations the day before and she was sorry that we did not know abouth this recent development. They didnt want to seat us at 8:30 until we put up a fuss, they relented and we had our table for four.
Service is a little surfer-dudish, but that's ok. The ambiance? Very fun and casual and back-yardish. My big gripe? The food. We started out and shared a crab cake appetizer that was disgusting, with a capital "D." It was so fishy it was inedible. I can eat just about anything, but wouldn't wish that cake of badness on anyone. Fish and chips...gross. Fish was greasy, batter was soggy. And the chips were soggy and greasy. How can you screw that one up? Cole slaw was a mayonais"y" explosion of, well, more mayo. It was dressed into oblivion. Lobster rolls were decent as were the desserts. Too little too late. The food was wildly inconsistent.
Good restaurants cannot be a roller coaster ride, but the BPO is just that. Oh, and your culinary "thrill ride" does not come cheaply. Many, many better options. (and the other options have always taken reservations.)
