Great location one block from the beach, walking distance to Venice boardwalk. Shopping and restaurants at the doorstep. Fresh produce market across the road on a Sunday morning was a bonus. We stayed on the 2nd floor generous size though average rooms we did have noise issues with the room next door but management deal with this very quickly. Location and price for this area is the drawcard.

I stayed 10 nights in the Junior Suite in the back of the complex. The suite is large with a full kitchen, living room and bedroom. The location of the suite guarantees a good night's sleep as there's no noice from the Main Street. Minor minuses: the AC unit in the bedroom is so noisy and outdated I had to switch it off for the night. Well, anyway, it didn't really have a cooling effect. And only one drinking glass for a suite for two makes life a bit complicated for couples.
There are several restaurants and bars within walking distance, For dinner, I would recommend the Enterprise Fish Co and the Tsukiji Sushi Zen, both excellent, although not cheap. There's a good cafe, Amelia's, located in the premises. Good coffee and sandwiches. However, they have a ban on computers for some reason, so I wasn't allowed to read my Finnish morning paper on my iPad. Maybe I should've printed it on a stack of paper? Well, I had my breakfast elswhere after that. The reception staff at the Sea Shoe are very nice and helpful. Will be back.

Room Tip: The rooms facing Main Street might be noisy.

Chose this after reading Trip Advisor reviews, Of course, being there puts everything into perspective. Tile floors means those staying on the first floor can be very noisy (sounded like furniture was being dragged around upstairs). While the weather could have meant sleeping with windows open, the noise of the nearby street meant closing the windows and using the AC was the best decision. Attention to detail in the cleaning is needed in the rooms and the office. The closet has only wire hangers that seem to have been left behind by visitors. The location afforded me the chance to shop along Main street which has a lot of great shops,. and to walk to the beach. The cost was what I aimed for, in addition to the location and for that I was satisfied. Probably will check out another location for the next trip.

Room Tip: Perhaps a second floor room would be better and farther from street.

A fabulous family run motel with a great crew. Chris and his wife and staff are friendly and helpful, and every request I made was carried out with great speed and courtesy.
A great location very near the beach promenade.
The room was excellent, spotless, and extremely comfortable.

This is our second stay and we will simply never stay some place else when in S M due to price, friendly staff and LOCATION. It is a motel, retro in style: hot pink building on Main street. The staff are really friendly and genuinely interested in their customers. Gotta love it. Will be back ✌️☀️

We stayed at the Sea Shore Motel for a week. We spent three days in one of the suites (6 people in two queen beds and a sofa bed) and then three days in one of the motel room. The suite is actually an apartment with a kitchen, dining area, and a lot of space. The room is a two queen beds room with a small bathroom. In both cases we found clean areas, new or renovated. The room is not huge, but after all we are talking of a Motel room.....a very nice hotel room. The price is not low but compared to other "hotels" in Santa Monica is very affordable. And it is all about location, location, location. If you want to be less than 5 minutes far from the beach, with several excellent restaurants on Main street....you gotta pay for it.

Hotels in Santa Monica are costly especially in the summer. Did a lot of research on the net before deciding on this motel.
It was nearly full when I booked nearly 3 months ago and decided to take the 1 bedroom kitchen suite.
Check in was a breeze and we were allotted suite 42 which is in the annexe, recently done up suite and facing away from the noisy Main Street which was a big plus.
The motel is ideally located, just 5 minutes walk to the beach, almost at the centre of Venice beach and Santa Monica. Lots of great dining options and shopping nearby.
And great customer service and advice from the front desk, especially from Tom.

Room Tip: Get a room that does not face Main Street. Suites 42 and 43 would be ideal for a family of 4 or 5.
