“well worth the stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

A lovely stay in this Motel at the end of our route 66 trip. Due to a change in our booking at the last hour, we managed to stay in both the suite and the smaller room. We were very happy with both, along with the friendly staff. The only downer I would mention is that on a couple of occasions, the bar across the road got a bit noisy and wild too late into the evening. The Motel is aware of this, and the surrounding residents have been trying to shut it down, so for any light sleepers, this may be an issue. Otherwise a great stay in a really nice part of town.

Room Tip: perhaps keep away from the main road (as this is near the club opposite)

My husband, 3 kids and myself stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. We flew in from Australia and arrived early but our room was ready so we could check in which was fantastic as we were all exhausted. Tom on the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. We walked to the Pier and downtown Santa Monica and
hired bikes to ride to Venice beach. Downtown Santa Monica where the motel is located has some fantastic shops and restaurants. This motel is great value and has loads of character, we would certainly stay here again.

I stayed at this motel for 2 nights in July, it was my first time in LA. Its exaclty what it looked like on the pictures, it was in a very good location about a 3min walk from the Santa Monica Beach. Lovely walk along the beach to the Santa Monica Pier. We were departing early in the morning and our bathroom door had some how managed to close & lock in the middle of the night we think that it may have been from the air conditioning because we had it on high, all of our things were in there, the guy at reception was really good and magaed to open the door for us straight away so that we wouldn't be delayed. The rooms were clean and over all enjoyed my stay at this motel.

Room Tip: If you would like a quiet room, request one away from the street

My daughter and I stayed two nights and loved it. We had an early flight into LAX and arrived around 11:30. Tom checked us in quickly and took the time to show us on a map where everything was located (restaurants, The Promenade, beach) and what was happening over the weekend. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. It was great. The motel is in a great location - a 20 minute walk to Santa Monica Pier and Venice beach, with lots of shops and restaurants near by. The price is fantastic - a great value for Santa Monica. We loved it and will definitely stay there again.

Loved Sea Shore Motel! It is in a fantastic location and a really good price for expensive Santa Monica. Lovely rooms and just an all round good place to stay. Booking in advance is reccomended though as the two nights we were there there were no vacancies and we actually booked about 8 months in advance.

We stayed two nights in this place - absolutely loved it. Only two block walk from the gorgeous Santa Monica beach. We walked to Venice in one direction (about 20 minutes) and the pier in the other direction (about 20 minutes).
We met Ken on check - he is an absolute sweetheart and armed us with a mine of information about the area. There is a farmer's market directly across the street every Sunday - really lovely to stroll around.
The room was spacious and the bed was huge! Very clean, small fridge, air con, flat screen TV.
Would definitely stay here again :)

The hotel is very nice. Located within walking distance of the beach and big mall. Has its own parking at no additional charge. We staid there 3 nights and room was always clean. Employees are courteous and always willing to help. My little one was glad to have a shovel and a bucket that was provided by the hotel, we also forgot our towels and hotel gave it to us. Overall we are very pleased with our stay.
