My only two neices and one of my grand niece were visiting Santa Monica. My oldest son and I joined them for breakfast at Shutters on the Beach, which is where they were staying. We had a reservation and were seated on the patio. The five of us were sitting there as several restaurant employees walked past us. Finally, one of them said someone would be right with you. A few minutes later our server showed up and took our drink orders. Again we waited. I asked a different server where our drinks were. Several minutes later, a different person brought four of the five drinks. Again, we waited. Finally our server shows up with the final drink and takes our breakfast order. The food was very good but the service was lousy. I was very dissappointed that such a fancy (not to mention very expensive) place, provided such poor service. I'm pretty sure this was not the "norm" at Shutters. It is my opinion that whoever our server was should be retrained or let go.

We were lucky enough to stay in a suite facing the beach and it was lovely! The decor makes you feel like you are in your own beautiful luxurious home, and the views are just amazing. The beach is at you doorstep, so it is so easy to go enjoy it. The pool setting is also very relaxing. Bed was very cozy and the bathroom had a huge really fun tray of potential purchases with everything from sunscreen to face masks. Room service was great.
