“A "must see" place around Los Angeles”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

Allthough this place is very touristic, it's a "Must see" place when you visit Los Angeles.
You have a beautiful view over the beach and bay with the very recognisable pier (from TV and movies) with it's Ferris Wheel and other fairground attractions, restaurants and gift shops.

Route 66 ends here right on the pier.

A few blocks away from the peer you have a really nice shopping area.

Parking your car here in this area can be very costly.

“If you haven't been here for awhile...”
Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

You should think about returning soon...I just visited the pier yesterday, and had a really enjoyable time on a very warm day. The Ferris Wheel is high, perfectly paced and gives you great value for your investment, at least 15 minutes on this ride...(When was the last time you spent that long on a single ride?) The pier still has skee-ball, which I haven't played in years, and which is still just as much fun as ever. There is even a Zoltar mystical exhibit, with a very funny voice and spiel...If you want to return to your childhood, this is definitely the place to return to.

“Don't go on a holiday weekend!!!!”
Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

My fiancé and children wanted to try out a different beach in California, well we should have stuck with what we knew! The beach was overly crowded, there was trash everywhere along the shore, the waves weren't even big enough to ride with a buggy board! It's always great to try something new however don't go on a holiday weekend! There are no BBQ pits at all here just an FYI, there is a huge playground however near the pier that was pretty cool to see, we just didn't play in it!

“Dated but a nice walk”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

The Pier is slightly dated, including rides and the pier structure itself, but enjoyed a walk along it as well as along Santa Monica beach. A cool visit when your in town.

“Crowded crowded crowded.”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

Just like the title says, it tends to be crowded but the beach surrounding it is nice. It feels like a generic "pier attraction" most states have. Visited my siblings in L.A. and it is one of the stops to go to.
