Description: Lillian's Italian Kitchen opened quietly on July 4, 2007. It's a joint venture of the owners, Joe and Charlotte Moreno and their sons Chris and Matt. Long time residents of Santa Cruz, the Moreno's dream was to open a neighborhood place that was an extension of their family kitchen. The inspiration was Grandma Lilly's wonderful home cooking. Lillian was devoted to family and friends and her life was greatly fulfilled by her love and passion for cooking. Born in Yonkers, New York, Lillian was able to combine traditional Sicilian recipes learned from her parents and the many Italian influences in her neighborhood. Executive Chef Chris honors Lillian's family recipes as well as offering a variety of fresh and creative additions to the menu while Matt makes sure guests feel at home. Good food, good friends, great prices and straight from the heart. Tutti a mangiare!

I ordered takeout from this restaurant while vacationing in Santa Cruz. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! My husband had a steak which he said was very good, I had delicious lasagna (I ate half it is a huge serving), and the kids shared spaghetti. We would definitely go back on our next trip.

This is a VERY small place - reservations would help. We walked in and had to wait maybe 30 minutes. There is a cozy little bar a few doors down, so we went down there for a drink and they called us when the table was ready. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Our waitress rushed us a little, but all in all the service was fine.

Booked a table for Thursday night at 7pm for 5 people - making a reservation is essential.

The place is small and was packed. Good atmosphere.

Four had pasta with one opting for steak. All pasts dishes were excellent with freshly made pasta. The steak was a 3 out of 5 - a bit fatty - no room for deserts.

Would have no problem recommending this restaurant.

One small comment is that access to the only toilet in the restaurant is via the actual kitchen. Also there is no vented lobby between the toilet and the kitchen.
- not sure of codes but this seems to be extremely odd.

We love this place. From the gracious host, to the incredible food, & wonderful staff. Hands down one of our favorite restaurants. It's TINY, there's always a wait, and it's always worth it. If it's a warm day, wear shorts, it can get pretty toasty inside. I hope they never change or move.

My husband and I were in Santa Cruz for a weekend trip and heard we had to stop by Lillian's! So glad we did!!! The Lasagna was to die for! The restaurant is small, but in a good way. When amazing restaurants expand they lose their home touch feeling and taste! WE can't wait to come back!
