We, locals, hit the Boardwalk on Monday and Tuesday nights after 5pm for $1 a ride specials! If you're sick of hot dogs, head toward the Wharf and veer right.

I have eaten at Las Palmas twice in the last month and enjoyed it both times. The building does not look like much from the outside, but there is a line to order for a reason. The food is great and relatively inexpensive especially for this busy area b Santa Cruz. Small burritos run about $3. Large burritos and combo plates start around $5-$6. I found the food to be tasty and not over spiced.
Las Palmas is a very short walk to the wharf and boardwalk and it is a favorite spot for many Santa Cruz locals. The atmosphere is friendly and it is a great place to get a quick bite without resorting to a fast food chain.

Great food and prices! The owner was fun and informative. The location is less than 5 minute walk from the boardwalk/beach.

The tacos were yummy. Lots of fresh pico and tasty shredded beef. Disappointed in the chili relleno, as it was undercooked (cool inside, cheese wasn't melted, and the exterior was soggy). Tasty, fluffy mexican rice. Typical refried beans smothered in cheese. Reasonably priced for the area. Stick to the tacos though. Decent beer selection.
