“It's not New York, but it's the best in Santa Cruz”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

You really can't get a great bagel in Santa Cruz - you need to go to NYC for that - but the Bagelry has the best bagels in town. The bagels are nice and hard (boiled), as opposed to others in town that are just round bread with a hole in the middle. They have a wide range of flavors, including the sometimes-difficult-to-find salt bagel. Most of the flavors are traditional; there are only a few flavors that bagel purists will detest, and you can always ignore those. The shmears are also excellent; my family thinks the cream cheese is the best in town. Nothing beats a fresh Bagelry bagel as part of a brunch on a weekend morning. Get there early - the lines get long.....

“A Lot For A Little”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Bagelry is an iconic Santa Cruz institution. They have many innovative bagels and dozens of spreads. You can mix and match your spreads according to your desire. The soups are good and they always have a vegan/non-dairy choice which is great. It's an inexpensive healthy fast food alternative and an all around great meeting spot.
Did I mention the colorful always scrumptious fruit salad? The delicious chai and strong peppy coffee? Suffice to say I'm a big fan.

“Awesome!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

I love this place and always get top-notch service! You tell the person who's going to make your bagel what you want and pay that person. Easy, simple and quick.
I come here in the morning before work and am in and out within 3-4 minutes.
Their egg salad is very good and every spread I have tried is great.

“best bagels in town”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

The Bagelry has a great variety of bagels & toppings. The staff is friendly, and atmosphere is mellow. Good coffee, chai, and Odwalla juices. My favorites are the egg salad, and also the lox with green onions, on toasted onion bagel. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

“Meet the real Santa Cruz at the Bagelry”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

This is a place that can expand your flavor experience. Try the Luna, which contains ricotta cheese, pesto and almonds, on an Oatmeal-date bagel. Think that you hate tofu? The Del Fuego on a warm three-seed bagel brings combines a tofu base with chiles, black olives, sunflower seeds and more. Spicy and nutty like the town. If those combos make you nervous, they also make a great lox and cream cheese bagel. Salads, soups and cookies are first rate too.
