Stopped by here for lunch on a road-trip with a buddy along coastal highway 1 and had a very enjoyable lunch at Johnny's Harborside restaurant.

Service is very attentive, we got a nice table overlooking the marina and from the starters to the main meals this as an all-round very good meal and experience.

I certainly recommend the fresh, daily fish catches. These were prepared spot-on and also served in an aesthetically pleasing way. Also, I really enjoyed the seafood ceviche starter, well prepared and highly enjoyable.

Johnny's Harborside restaurant is refined without being stuffy or pretentious, and I recommend it as a nice lunch or dinner-time location for the discerning traveler passing through Santa Cruz on their way to other destinations.

My wife and I, joined by my son and his wife, spent the day whale watching with a local Santa Cruz outfit. Had a ball, upon returning, we all dined at Johnny's Harborside. The food was terrific, the service was excellent. After dinner we all went for a nice stroll around the harbor.

Overpriced and atrocious staff. Took two hours for lunch and we had three kids with us. They messed up our order, overcharged us and acted so clueless the whole time. Waitress blamed her mistakes on poor training...huh?? Manager seemed unconcerned and clueless. Food was decent but took wayyyyyy to long. Got no refills on water or bread and just overall a bad experience and waste of money. Almost seemed as if the staff were zombies - that bad.

Had a great meal at this cheerful casual spot overlooking the harbor. Simply prepared incredibly fresh fish. I had the tuna and my partner the halibut. You have three choices of how you wanted the fish cooked with four choices of style. The tuna was perfectly seared rare. A very reasonably priced wine list with many half bottles. In fact incredibly reasonably priced all around.

The staff were also incredibly friends and knowledgeable. And the grand finale was dessert. They are offered as small bites. We had two. Highly recommend

Salmon sandwich was fresh and tasty, the fried fish was too greasy, the batter too doughy. Service was quick and efficient, the location with partial views to the harbor water was good.
