While we easily found Star Bene, we had to drive by a few times before we figured out which drive/parking lot to go into. It's a cute restaurant on East Cliff which is a lovely drive. We just happened to be in town for their monthly tango night, where they set up their back room with tables around a dance floor...okay they get an extra point from this travelling tanguera!
We arrived early so we started out at the bar and chatted with the owners. It is rather interesting that the restaurant is Italian but the owners are Argentinean!
While the food was yummy, and of course the dancing was wonderful, I have to say I felt forgotten in the back room. I had to walk to the bar any time I wanted something...like our forgotten water, could we have more water, could we have our bill, etc. I heard from one of the regular attendees that usually the waitress is very attentive but she didn't appear to be working that night. They were accommodating when we requested to split our salad and meal and I thought the presentation of our table was beautiful.
