We stopped here for an early lunch on our way to Monterey. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun.My husband had Shrimp Benedict, and I had the California burger with a salad. Both were very tasty and served quickly by a helpful waitress. We arrived at 11:15 on a Thursday morning, and when we arrived the place was almost packed. By the time we left, the crowd had thinned out, but the majority of tables were filled. We saw several orders of waffles pass our table, so it looks like waffles are a popular item. This is obviously a popular place and we would go back when we are in the area. There were a few tables outside also for street-side dining. If you are going on a weekend or for breakfast at the "normal" time, you probably will wait for a table, but it is worth the wait.

“Best Breakfast Ever!!”
Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

My mom and I stopped here for breakfast this morning before heading down the coast. The breakfast was honestly the best breakfast I have ever had. Sorry Mom but it's true. The service was stellar. The menu selections and food were fantastic. It's worth your time to stop, take time out of your schedule, and enjoy!

“A great lunch”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

We stopped in for a late lunch. My wife had a scrumptious egg dish; Igot the shrimp caesar salad. Both were excellent, but the real hit was the atmossphere: bustling and yet relaxed; filled with happy conversation, but not overly loud, so that we felt encouraged to linger. A total success.

“It wasn't great, it was OK.”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

This is the second time we ate breakfast here prior to attending a National Theater Live event at the Del Mar Theater.

I had eggs benedict, sans ham, on both occasions. Each time the eggs, sauce and muffin were good (although the sauce could have a touch more lemon). However, the first time the home fries were inedible, i.e., over cooked, soggy, and coated in to much oil (the oil tasted and smelled a bit like motor oil). The second time the home fires were cooked better but the oil still had a motor oil taste and smell.

My companion had poached eggs on toast both times and they were satisfactory. She also found the home fries inedible on our first visit. On the second, she found them edible.

Will probably go back the next time we go to a National Theater Live event, but I'll pass on the home fries.
