We have eaten lunch and dinner here and it's one of our favorites. My wife especially likes the lamb dishes

The staff was very friendly and efficient. We are a group of 8, from the time we walked in to walk out is less than an hour. Everything we ordered was very delicious. The appetizer plate which include four different things were all very flavorful. I loved my lamb shank and the rice with dried cranberries was very tasty. We also had the special, lamb burger, very flavorful and the salad dressing was exceptionally tasty. The prices are very reasonable! Highly recommend this place.

Great service and ambiance at this restaurant. Knowledgable staff that gave great recommendations. Presentation of food was nice. However, the dishes I ordered lacked the Mediterranean flavors that I was expecting. Had the special soup of carrot & ginger puree with yogurt sauce. Entree was a lamb pasta. Wine suggested by our waitress paired very well with our selections.

Was a decent value for the money.

High points were the filet mignon kabobs, mixed green salad, and mantoo, which is ground beef and onion dumpling.
What’s great about the salad almost got past me until my wife pointed out the unusual seasoning and lack of vinegar. Made with cardamom dressing. The lamb pasta was kind of gummy - both the pasta itself and the lamb.
Coffee is seasoned with cardamom, too.

We were passing through Santa Cruz at lunch time and decided to stop in this very attractive upscale looking college town. We looked through a list of restaurants and chose Laili, and we were delighted we did. Beautiful space nside and a wonderful courtyard space outside where we sat, enjoying the perfect fall weather. The menu had so many options we wanted to try that it was hard to choose. The roasted pomegranate eggplant platter was a fan favorite as was the delicious housemade ginger-lime soda. Highly recommend!
