Seymour Marine is located on the cliffs overlooking Monterey Bay & has many interesting exhibits as well as supervised hands-on displays for the kids. An oceanside hike & bike trail adds to the area for those wishing to take a nice stroll along the cliffs. Very scenic area for an hour's stop.

Seymour lab is dedicated to the care of marine life and the discovery of the Monterey Bay. You can view skeletons of gray whales and learn the eating habits of such sea creatures. a visit here is not only educational, but a very beautiful place to get some great photo shots of the shoreline.

After visiting Monterey and San Fran Aquariums, this proved to be small and disappointing. Positives first, we did like the touch tanks, and the whale skeleton in front is impressive. The staff/students were super friendly and knowledgeable. But the facility was way smaller than I expected, and for the price we paid, we were really disappointed that we weren't allowed to see their dolphins. Dolphins and more skeletons are reserved for tours only. So leave plenty of time or call ahead to get on the tour.

We're glad you enjoyed the touch tanks, whale skeleton and our volunteers but sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the size of our facility and our tour policies. We try to keep our prices as low as possible and also offer Free Community Days throughout the year which are listed on our website.

You are able to see both our gray whale and blue whale skeleton without a tour; only the dolphins may not be seen without a docent-led tour. If you are a group of more than 9, then you must call 3 weeks in advance to book a tour, otherwise tours are first-come, first-serve and sign-up sheets go out 1 hour in advance. You must sign-up in person for our daily tours and usually if you arrive an hour prior to your preferred tour time, you are able to reserve yourself a space. Our tours are limited in size because they take you back into the marine mammal research facility and we must respect the needs of the researchers there so that we don't interrupt their work. We hope you understand and hope that you will visit us again. Thank you for taking the time to come to our facility!

A great place for a view and a great place to take the kids to have some hands on fun. Kids can touch all the sea life and they have a lot of hands on discovery things to do!

Take your younger children for the educational and interactive experience. Fun science kiosks, touchy tide pool and live examples of the local ocean ecosystem. Make sure you go outside on the trail for the great Pacific vistas.
