We were very happy with our room at Inn at Pasatiempo. We had a very quiet room. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is very convenient to Highway 17 and Interstate 1. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast consisted of food from various levels of the food pyramid: hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, toast, fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee, pastries and other foods. Our hotel stay was an excellent value for the money.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 302--very quiet.

Close to Pasatiempo Golf Course. Just off of Hwy 17 coming from San Jose. Nothing fancy. My room was clean. If I had a complaint it would be that there was a large gap under the door (about 2") and the walls were paperthin...too much sound through the walls. A few of my family were there and some loved it and some did not (noise through walls). Nice to have the bar to relax and not drive - there was nothing surrounding the place. They made a mistake on my reservation but were very very nice about it. Continental breakfast was blah(free) but the Sunday Buffet (not free) was FANTASTIC!!! I feel it was a good value. Nothing fancy.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west wide closest to the pool have a pretty view. I only heard the drone of traffic off...

Great little jewel in the Santa Cruz coastal mountains right off Hwy 17 and only minutes from Santa Cruz sights. Older, but very clean and well kept up facility. All staff members I encountered were well trained, very helpful and friendly (especially London at front desk and Annie at "Peaches")). The restaurant and bar also excellent!

Room Tip: Rooms further from Front desk are more quiet

My husband and I stayed at the hotel last week on our way to Monterey, CA. We were both pleasantly surprised by how cute and comfortable this hotel is for being an older place. The hotel staff was very helpful and the room was really nice and better than expected. Yes, it is true there is no a/c in the rooms and the room was a little stuffy. We too had to sleep with our window open but this wasn't even a problem because the hotel is located in a very quite and secluded spot off the highway. The pool was exceptional. We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a good place to stay with a resturant that is out of town away from all the noice.

Expensive is true enough, staff definitely needs training (especially night crew), Hotel rooms need a bit of updating (NO A/C so the rooms become extremely WARM/HOT). I was locked out of my room due to confusion on the staff part and had to walk up two hills in heels (and have not been able to wear matching shoes (cast) for over 6yrs so this was NOT an easy task). Come to find out that the staff person refused me entry into my room and holding my luggage because I was supposed to check out the same day I checked in (so how was I suppose to do that?). Finally able to have this person understand, via having her look up on the registration (search their Computer Database, geezz). And the worst part, she did not even apologise (at 2.30AM). But Adela (Head Front Desk Clerk) was rather upset about what occurred the next morn, so hopefully this issue will NOT occur again. BUT Still..

Room Tip: If one does NOT mind Heat fine. But if one does not care for temps over 20c or so, do NOT stay here...

The good first: comfortable beds and pleasant staff. The reason I am giving it 3 stars, however, is if it is at all warm the room is very stuffy (the overhead fan hardly puts out) and since we had to sleep with the window open for any air circulation we were woken early by people packing and leaving. All of this for $200 per night. Sunday brunch is very good (but costs extra).

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool area.

We camp in Santa Cruz area every year ...But this year we were only staying a few days so we picked a hotel. We have stayed a few places over the years and not realy wanted to go back ..But this close but out of the way place was great ...Only 3 miles from town fast on and off the highway and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN...price was as good as anyone in town so why stay in town? We had our two grandkids with us and not a problem..The have a free breakfast (not alot) but enough to get you going...We will never stay anywhere else when in Santa Cruz...Staff was great also....

Room Tip: Our room was on the east side facing the trees..But by the looks of it they were all nice...
