Small but iconic and beautiful beach with a nature grove of butterflies near visitor center. Park in the lot and enjoy both, with just a short walk in each direction. $10 to park at state beaches.

My gf and I went for the Monarch butterfly path, and we were pleasantly surprised our trail walk ended at a beach. Even on a chilly, overcast day in December it was relaxing to sit on the beach and watch the pelicans. Perfect start or ending to the Monarch butterfly path.

My favorite part was the tide pools along the shoreline. Really one of my favorite places on my northern California trip.

Small beach with opportunities to tide pool and see butterflies when in season. Unfortunately, the showers aren't working so if you get in the water, you can't rinse off. Also, the ledge that allowed you to get to the northern tidepools has eroded away, so there is only a small area to explore. I will take my collapsible extension ladder next time to get past the small ravine. There is a lot of kelp in the water that may bother some people, but we just ignore it when we boogie board. If parking lot is full, you can park on the street and walk in.

we often go to Natural Bridges State Beach. This is a wonderful place to go. This time we went on a Sunday and there were lots of people there. People were enjoying picnics and beach play.

We like to see all the birds on the island.

There is also a butterfly secction where one can walk
