The museum is located at Lighthouse Point, in what used to be a functioning lighthouse. The photos and historical information are really interesting, and the displays of surfboard styles over the years are well super. The hours are limited, 12-4, closed on Tues and Wed, so beware. It is free, but donations are welcome.

The Santa Cruz Surfing Museum is housed in a small lighthouse on W. Cliff Drive overlooking surfers at play. Though a one room collection, the curator has compiled a comprehensive collection of the sport's history by utilizing the space very well. Donations are accepted, and a small gift concession by the door purveys surf-themed items. A bottle opener surfboard keychain makes a unique gift. Visit the museum during a bike ride along the mostly flat drive along the ocean.

Older museum with a lot of history. It was nice to see how surfing changed over the years. The musuem needs donations, don't forget to donate.

I liked the grounds surrounding the Lighthouse, the view, and the small museum. Great place to take pictures of family and scenic views. Great place to watch the surfers too.
