This sushi joint is away from downtown (in a mini-strip mall on Mission) and tiny, but almost always full. The food is very good - we usually get the bento box - and very fresh. The teriyaki is especially good, as is the sashimi option for the bento box. Wide selection of rolls, many of which are imaginative. Service is quick, and prices are reasonable (for sushi in an expensive town like Santa Cruz).
The only downside is that it can be loud. They're usually playing music (it goes with the disco ball-like moving lights), and it can be hard to hear others at your table. Great if you're in a party mood, not so much if you want a quiet meal.
It's our go-to place for sushi in town - yummy food, and we don't need to deal with downtown parking.
