Good for: Business meetings
Dining options: Late Night, Reservations
Description: Our second restaurant, opened in 1979 in the heart of the Silicon Valley, has been as popular with local residents as it has with the business crowd. A comfortable and spacious cocktail bar adds to the energetic atmosphere of this casual dining restaurant. Be sure to arrive early for the counter seats at the oyster bar, as they fill up quickly.

My wife and I recently ate here and again, the fish was so fresh. Not the cheapest restaurant but great quality for the money.

“The Bar”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

I go here all the time and I prefer to sit at the bar. You can order what you like and watch the Chef as he cooks. The food always seems to be much better when it's cooked in front of you. Not sure what you want just ask what is fresh that day and you can get something made special that probably isn't even on the regular menu. So yummy!

“Excellent Fish, but Minimal Flavor”
Reviewed February 28, 2014

The fish at this restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately, the flavors were missing.
Mesquite-grilled implies a char on the outside.....there was none on any of the 4 char-grilled fishes.
The mahi-mahi was very fresh, and looked appetizing....but again, the flavors missed: the cilantro pesto was almost non-existent, therefore, you had a very bland fish dish.
1/2 doz Oyster appetizer selection of 3 different oysters was ok; they were fresh, but relatively small oysters. Red sauce served was ketchup with grated horseradish on the side....and that's it. I prefer a robust ketchup-Worcestershire-tabasco-horseradish dip with lots of lemon juice. Oh, well, the grated horseradish had nice flavor.
College girls loved the warm crab-artichoke appetizer, but I find those dishes really boring also.....I like to really taste the crab.
Recommend this for larger parties, as we had 10 people and it was quite enjoyable. Wait staff was very efficient and nice and acoomodating. Beers were fresh and cold and wines by the glass were excellent.
There is a large bar area to one side that could be fun, as it was packed.

“The Fish Market is excellent”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Without hesitation, I recommend The Fish Market on El Camino near Lawrence Expressway. I have eaten there dozens of times alone and with friends and we never had a bad meal. The seafood is fresh and cooked just right -- never under or over-cooked. Their menu is huge so there is always something for everyone. My favorites are New Zealand green shell mussels, rainbow trout, shrimp cocktail, and New England clam chowder.

Only downsides are that the prices are not cheap, but since the seafood is fresh it is worth it to me. It can be a little noisy due to the acoustics. That said, it is an excellent place for all kinds of seafood.
