Upon our late arrival, our flight did not get in til 9:30pm. We were warmly greeting by Wally Martinez, he helped get us checked in. We were upgraded to a room with a nicer view on the 10th floor. We thought it was a wonderful present as it was my birthday. The 2 room suite was spacious for a family of 4. Our children got the sleeper sofa, thin mattress, they had a better sleeper sofa at a stay at the Whistler Westin. We had a king size bed and it was comfortable, no complaints here. The room was clean and spacious, no bed bugs or mold smells. 2 large screen TV's in each room. Amenities include a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Evelyn and Crabtree soaps, lotions and shampoo.

Made to order breakfast station was excellent, it was not just an omelet station, they had a Chef special everyday and it ranged from Corned beef hash, Breakfast burritos, and whole wheat pancakes with strawberries, everything was generously served with potatoes, bacon and sausage. So many choices to chose from, fresh melon fruit, yoplait yogurt, fresh apples, oranges and bananas, oatmeal with brown sugar, granola and raisins, steam table of steamed scrambled eggs, potato hash, pancakes, french toast, mini danishes and muffins, 4 types of cereal to chose from including cornflakes and fruit loops. A toasting station where you can toast up bread or bagels with jam, and peanut butter. During the weekdays, steamed rice was offered along with a large pot of miso soup served with all the fixings like nori, japanese pickles, tofu and the pink and white fish cake slices. Coffee, tea, milk and 4 types of juices (cranberry, apple, orange and guava) available.
During the weekend, the breakfast area was a zoo, overrun by families, on the weekdays, it was business people. The complimentary manager's evening happy hour, 5-7:30 pm was excellent, especially for those that need a drink to unwind after a long day. They had snacks of raw vegetables with dip, or marinated pickled vegetables, salsa and chips, and chex mix. The kids enjoyed the access to the soda machine.

Free wifi in the lobby and business center was excellent, 2 computers, a laser printer and a fax machine. We used the business center to do online check in and to print up our boarding passes. We had an excellent stay and would definitely return. The hotel is centrally located, there is a full service restaurant in the hotel. If you don't want to eat there, there is a McD's within walking distance and a Indian Restaurant next to the hotel. 8 minute drive to the San Jose Airport.
The only downside to this hotel is not the hotel but the irresponsible parents or chaperones that let the children and teenagers run wild. My husband accompanied our child to use the pool facility. And to his dismay there was no chaperones or parents around to supervise the teenagers. They were all playing in the pool in their street clothes. WTH, no one had bathing suits? If you a business traveler, this hotel is fine on the weekdays, the weekends expect chaos from these families that let their children run wild.

Room Tip: We had room 1022, it was quiet and clean.

Stayed for 4 nights with husband and 3 young children. Thought the one bed suite with 2 queens in the bedroom and sofa bed in the living area would work however on arrival it was clear that the sofa bed was not of a standard that was going to be comfortable for 2 adults for 4 nights - thin mattress giving little cushioning from metal bars beneath. Had also specifically requested a quiet room so was disappointed to find we'd been allocated a room on the freeway side of the hotel (drafty windows providing little soundproofing). Returned to receiption to request a swap to a front facing quieter room - was told that the only configuration facing in that direction was a king bed in the bedroom with sofa bed in living room - I said this would be preferable but it wasn't possible as they only allow this configuration for a maximum party of 4 and wouldn't provide a rollaway. So we were stuck with the noisy room which at 11 that night just got noisier as we realised they'd allocated us a room on a corridor with a school trip who partied (unchecked despite my calls to receiption at 1am) until the early hours. And just when that stopped we were woken by the reversing buzzers of the delivery trucks at 5am - the delivery area being directly under our window - this lasted on and off until 6.30. So no, not a quiet room. On complaining the receiption staff did not query that we should get a refund for our night of disturbed sleep but it did not make for a good start to this section of our holiday. The school party left that day but the freeway noise and reversing beeps continued for the rest of our stay. Our rate included breakfast - food pretty good, omlette chef very pleasant - my only gripe was that on 3 of the 4 mornings the hostess would look at our party of 5 and then tell us to take any of the available tables - none of which accommodated more than 4 and on no occassion offered to get us a highchair for our youngest. Each day we'd have to pull tables together and rearrange chairs before we could eat which the staff just stood around. Not great service for a hotel which promotes itself as family friendly.

Room Tip: All rooms with 2 queens are apparently on the freeway side - if you need this configuration, your room will be pretty noisy. Be prepared.

Stayed for one night on business. The hotel is a little dated, but it's not "old" by any means. I'm not an Embassy Suites guru, but it is comparable to others I have stayed at. The rooms were nice. Bathroom a bit cramped. I requested a room away from the highway and was accomodated. The breakfast is great. Cooked to order eggs, along with breakfast meats, fruits, yougurts, etc. Would stay again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Request a room not facing the highway.

awful rooms, we stayed three nights unfortunately. smells like mold inside the suites, bathroom/bedroom very small, very noisy with traffics outside the window even when we are on top floor. worst customer services from front desk ladies in the morning shift. ASK about changing rooms, and were told all rooms were not available without even trying to help..

will never stay here again.

This is a great location for an Embassy Suites, right off of highway 101 and near California's Great America and the Santa Clara Convention Center. The hotel has plenty of free parking, and is easy to find.

Of course, like any other Embassy Suites, all rooms are suites with a sitting/family room, fridge and sink, large bathroom, and full bedroom with a seperate room and door off the family room. Two TVs are nice when travelling with kids or just needing some space, and the couch in the sitting room has a bed.

I've stayed at many Embassy Suites and enjoy their full breakfast wherever we stay. This Embassy Suites had a somewhat stripped down breakfast offering in comparison to other locations. When I stayed they didn't have sausage and bacon out, you had to ask for some from the guys preparing omlets, which led to having to wait in line and have them dole it out.
