We were looking for a hotel for a gig we were attending in Cupertino, something nice but not overpriced considering we really only use the rooms for a few hours then we're off to another location.

I found The Plaza Suites online, the pictures looked nice but with the price (£50) I admittedly wasn't expecting too much.

As soon as we walked in through the doors my internal doubts perished and we were faced with a lovely lobby area and three smiling staff members ready to check us in.

Our check in was smooth and fun with a little bit of funny banter from the seemingly happy staff member serving us, he had us checked in quickly and handed over in total six free drink vouchers to use in the bar for happy hour was from 5-7pm.

We headed up to our room and were surprised to find an actual suite (I know it's called Plaza Suites) but we really were expecting just a half decent room... well when we first walked in we entered the sitting area which had a sofa, arm chair, coffee table, desk and desk chair as well as a fridge and microwave from that room it went into a wash area with a vanity area which had lots of room to spread out make up for girly nights out and lots of useful amenities including an emergency kit which had (nail file, sewing kit etc) :).

The wash area then led through to two doors one to the bathroom which had a lovely unique double door entrance, with bath and shower and off the wash area again was the bedroom which had a really wide bed two bed side tables and a tv.

We didn't make use of the fitness or swimming facilities but the swimming pool looked lovely and had a few people swimming in there from the view in reception.

We had a lovely stay here, breakfast was also nice and included in the rate with a selection of cereals, hot breakfast, pancakes, make your own waffles, tea, coffee, juices.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to being able to stay here again some time.

We booked our stay solely on TA reviews and by the excellent price we attained via the Great America Theme Park promotion. For $149.00 you get a King Suite for the night, two-tickets to Great America (general admission for 2 is $116.00), three free drinks (per person) at the lobby bar during the evening, and a complimentary full breakfast buffet. If you add up all the extra's you receive, they alone would carry a value of about $149.00. You are actually getting a free room night if you add it all up. When we arrived, we were pleased with the cleanliness and the reception area. The two gentlemen at the front desk were extremely nice. Upon arrival in our room, we gathered: PROS: The room was clean and featured two fairly large flat screen TV's in both the King Room and the living area. The room had a comfortable couch and chair as well as a desk with internet (5.99/day). The King Bed was very comfortable and the sink area outside of the bathroom was large and stocked with some cool extras. The free drinks were a nice touch and the breakfast was excellent (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, cereals, muffins, toast etc.). THE CONS: The Suite, as suites go, would be extremely small for a group of more than two (which we were) and we even felt a little crammed. The hallway interiors are in need of some fresh carpeting and some brighter lighting (hallways were depressingly dim). Then there was the bathroom. This, hands down, was the strangest and smallest bathroom we're ever encountered. One step to the toilet...turn around and there is the shower/bath. The problem here is that the bathroom had 'french doors' that opened inward, leaving even less room when trying to get in or out. Don't know who came up with that idea! Overall, the Plaza Suites is a nice place to stay and close to literall hundreds of restaurants and attractions. We would definitely return for another deal like we got....as long as there was only two of us!

Room Tip: If you have more than two travelers, pick a larger Suite.

My family stayed at the Plaza Suites recently for a soccer tournament. It was the perfect set up with a separate living area, two TVs, and two Queen beds. The sofa opened up as well, but it was definitely not comfortable as a bed. Everything was clean, staff was helpful, and the breakfast choices were amazing. We liked having a laundry room on the premises, but it was not well stocked with detergent the entire time. However, we had a great stay and loved the proximity to restaurants, fast food, movies and shopping. The cost was very reasonable and the staff was phenomenal when helping all of us check out early or late. Our family will definitely return to this wonderful hotel.

First the good things: the suites are very good (large, clean, good look). Location is also good (close to several companies, attractions etc), price reasonable.

The not so good things: first, the staff service quality is a bit irregular. I could get in touch with some very nice people, but some of them i found a bit cold and almost rude (although they were efficient and did what they were supposed to do) -- things like smiling and adequate voice tone may make a lot of difference.

Another thing was the noise. People who wrote here the hotel is quiet certainly did not stay in a room right in front of the highway, where a low and continuous noise can be clearly heard all the time.

I also had an unfortunate incident: i got stucked in the elevator. They quickly respond and after something like 40 min the problem was fixed, but no one asked me how i was feeling, if was ok, if i needed some help or something.

Finally, the breakfast. It's OK (not good, not bad), but on Saturdays you may have to wait for a free table (the room is undersized and this becomes worse on Saturdays) with a tray in your hands.

All in all, i can not honestly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not in front of 101.

My husband travels a lot, but I was in charge of this vacation, so when my husband heard I got a 3 star hotel he was worried. The reviews were so good that I felt safe about booking it. We were both pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean, updated, and spacious. The bed was really comfortable with feather pillows. The "continental" breakfast was packed with variety, parking was free, It was easy to find and close to the airport. The staff was helpful and very professional. We especially enjoyed Jumma at the front desk. He recommended an Ethiopian restaurant for us as a fun new experience. It really was! Great hotel!!!

This place was nice for a 1-night stay. We were originally put on a lower floor with no free wifi. I booked this hotel via hotels.com for an upgraded suite to have free wifi. They ended up moving us to a higher floor for the free wifi. The staff was friendly but we had to get out our iPad to prove exactly what type of room we booked & paid for. I have had several issuses with booking through a 3rd party. I now save the headache and go straight to the hotel's site. If you have a AAA membership, hotels are more likely to give you better discounts than other sites plus you don't have to pay until you Check out - what a concept!

Stayed one night July 21/12. The hotel property was total pleasant surprise! We had an executive suite on 7th floor. Definitely a 4Star plus property. The room was very well appointed. Two flat screen tv's, microwave, fridge, safe, outdoor pool, very well lit parking (outdoor) garage, great room service, free breakfast buffet. Would definitely stay here again. Wish all hotels could mirror The Plaza Suites. It's a hidden gem.

Room Tip: Select a suite on 7th floor, it's the Executive floor. You won't be disappointed.
