Great America (no longer Paramount's) has changed its tune and now centers largely on families. There are several kids' areas, and most of the recent ride additions are intended to be enjoyed by families. There are a few roller coasters- none as large or long as those at nearby Marine World. In fact, they had removed a few roller coasters since our last visit. The park was reasonably well-kept. There are very few entertainment offerings, and the ones we happened on were quite poor.
The park is mostly paved in blacktop, which even on a cool spring day makes it feel 10 degrees warmer. I can't imagine it in the summer!
Overall, we were satisfied with the park. The rides were all operating efficiently with minimal lines, and the food was better than normal amusement park fare.
