“Specactular Light Show”

We did not go to the amusement park, but certainly enjoyed their long and beautiful fireworks display on Sunday night. Heard they do this every weekend during the summer months ending Labor Day Weekend. Pure luck for us.

“Great rides...when they are in service.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

We tried to go on 3 different rides and they were all closed for maintenance. The food is way overpriced and tasted old. But the rides we were able to go on were fun and exciting. The Vortex was my favorite.

I plan our company picnic there every two or three years and have for a very long time. We are going next weekend and everyone is excited about it as usual. Its a fun way to spend the day.

“LIKE AN OLD-TIME BOARDWALK”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

Thrill-seekers will not find a heck of a lot of super-new thrill rides here, other than "Flight Deck", an excellent but short coaster. Over the years, Great America hasn't changed that much. It has a boardwalk fell to it just without the boardwalk and lots of concrete. Boardwalk rides included the 'Wild Mouse', in this case called 'Psycho Mouse' with an evi looking giant rodent at the entrance. The rickety and old 'Grizzly' wooden roller-coaster, the still operating (I don't know how) Demon. The Demon, back in the day, used to be the 'thing' to ride. Now The Demon is slow, shaky, and probably have the original trains fromway back when. There is a double0decker marry-go-round, a sky-ride (don't rock the cars dammit!), the water flume ride, and a whole slew of other 'seen them before' amusement rides. It makes for a fun day, but look for discount packages through the City of Santa Clara because it's not woth $57.99-a-day. And don't forget to bring the sunblock, because it's tough to find the shade!

“Good for the family and the community”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

Our family has been going to CGA for almost 20 years. During the summers, we would buy them passes so their daycare could take them several times a week. The park is clean and fun.

CGA also supports local causes with passes for those less fortunate.
