In general, the hotel was ok. The rooms were not very big. What really annoyed me was the fact that one could hear the AC of the neighboring room to an extend that made it very unpleasant.

I stayed here for three nights on business. While it grew on me as time went on, it still seemed below Hilton's standards. Maybe it's simply due to the hotel's small size, but compared to other Hiltons this place was underwhelming.

As others have said, it's in the middle of a commercial/industrial area and you'll hear planes taking off from SJC plus screams from the rides at Great Adventure. You're right near the convention center, the Hyatt (formerly Westin), and a whole bunch of tech companies. There is free parking, but if there's an event going on when you pull in, you may have to circle around to find a spot. The pool area is nice but small and the gym was particularly tight.

The room was fine--not great. The beds are quite soft. While the rooms are spacious and well appointed, I had some problems. In room 232 there were stains on the carpet, the TV didn't turn on, the alarm clock didn't work, and the sink was slow to drain. You'll also get to know the people next door--that's how thin the walls are.

If the price is right, I might consider staying here again. But I'd also look closely at the Hyatt and perhaps the Marriott.

If I were Hilton I'd rebrand this as a Garden Inn. It just doesn't live up to Hilton's standards.

Used priceline to get this place. Bid fiftey-one dollas per night for 2 nights. Good deal for that price. Considering I'm paying 3 times that for a Hyatt in SF, I'd say it's a good bargain. Of course, this hotel is in the middle of an industrial park. The amusement park is close by and so is the convention center. Only reason I stayed there was because I'm from a nearby town and was visiting.

Rooms are standard Hilton. Nice bed, nice linens. Clean. It's pretty new so nothing is worn out yet. No flat panel TV, fairly minimal stations, with CNN, ESPN, Discovery being the major cable channels.

No fridge or microwave. You can get free wifi downstairs and if you are in a lower floor, you can pick it up as well. I was in a 5th floor room and could get an ok signal. Otherwise you have to pay $10 a day for access.

Parking was free.

I booked a two night stay so my wife and I could attend the Pacific International Quilt Festival at the nearby Santa Clara Convention Center.

We have stayed at the Santa Clara Hilton during the Quilt show for the previous three or four years and had always had positive experiences.

When we tried to check-in today they had no record of our reservation (even though I had the confirmation from Hilton.com).

They said that they were fully booked and could not help us.

I *believe* that they dumped us because I made the reservation at a discounted AAA rate.

Location worked out wonderfully. My mom was attending an annual dinner party in Santa Clara and it turns out the party was being held in one of the Hilton ballrooms. Mom just had to take a quick elevator up to the room to change or use the bathroom. ACM - automatic checkout machine (first one I've seen/used); just insert your credit/debit card or key in the conf. # and you're set. Fitness centerwas decent. Pool was small and filled up quickly. Located on the same block as the Great America amusement park. Room was clean. Bed was too soft for my back (never had preference until then, now I know) and I had pain in the morning.
Didn't check out the restaurant or the bar in house. Room had large window that provided a nice view of a main intersection. Given an extra hour to checkout. Nice place.

  • Liked — The price, location in relation to party being held, view from the room.
  • Disliked — Small pool, soft bed.

No fridge or microwave.
Early check-in even by a few minutes was not allowed.
No free breakfast.
No bath towels, a couple of small ones.
These are based on comparison with a 2-3 star hotel like Quality Inn.
Overall not satisfied at all.
