Visiting my Navy son stationed in Central California, we made a day trip to beautiful and historic Santa Barbara. I asked a former resident what must-see attractions we should emphasize on a day trip and he emphatically recommended the Shoreline Park and especially on a weekend with the Art Fair in full operation. On the main road winding along the coastline and waterfront in Santa Barbara, it's impossible to miss this beautiful, wandering park. Finding nearby (paid) parking was very easy and we were thrilled with the mile of local artists displaying and selling unique artwork from simple items for a few dollars to exquisite pieces in the thousands (something for all ages, tastes and budgets). In the middle of the park is a pier with restaurants and museums. We all enjoyed a tasty seafood lunch in an elevated, outside dining area that provided an outstanding view of the ocean, park and beach in several directions. A must see during your visit to romantic and beautiful Santa Barbara!
