“Deserves even higher rating”

Surprised that this isn't rated higher among SB eateries. Ate here twice on a recent trip, and we loved everything we had. Tacos dorados were delish, as were gorditas and caldo de pescado.

“If only we had this in Washington”
Reviewed June 12, 2014 via mobile

I live in Washington State which has an abundance of American style Mexican restaurants. This is so different and authentic that I hardly recognized it. Try the tacos de lengua. Fabulous.

“Awesome pork tamales”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

I love El Bajio. We discovered this place a couple of years ago and we always go back when we're in town. It's small and unassuming so if your going for ambience this probably isn't the place for you. Don't let this fool you though because they have great food. My favorite is the pork tamale. The tamales are huge and the fresh corn flavor is out of this world. There is plenty of tender pork inside too. We also love the carne asada tacos. You can't go wrong with these tacos especially for only $2.99 each. The meat was very tender and juicy and they come with guacamole, sour cream and salsa. Portions of everything we've ever tried are very generous. I love the watermelon agua fresca too. You won't be disappointed.

“Best Tequeria in California”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

Just a hole in the wall, but they have the best Chile Relleno and sweet corn tamale we have ever had.
