“Great place to rest your head after a long flight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

We arrived late in the afternoon after a long flight from Sydney Australia and a drive up the coast. Frank was very welcoming and gave us lots of restaurant vouchers and advice. Parking was free and our room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The room wasn't particularly soundproof but we were so tired we slept well. Included breakfast was the usual Danish pastries, coffee and tea. Overall the Inn at East Beach was good value and we would stay there again.

We really enjoyed are stay at the Inn at East Beach and our visit to Santa Barbara. Frank really made us feel very welcome. They have a great continental breakfast with turtle eggs as Frank called them. He was kind enough to upgrade our room since I wasn't able to climb steps. Our room had a wonderful fire place that heated the room very well.He gave us great advice on what to see and do in Santa Barbara and coupons for the restaurants too. Frank's sunny attitude and great service makes an ordinary place into a great place. We also enjoyed the location, near the beach and away from the crowds. We had great meals at the Enterprise, Brothys and the Boat House and would highly recommend them. If you go to Brothys Bros, try the hot combination appetizer. It's big enough for a meal and comes with mussels, clams, shrimp, oysters rockefeller and more. I had that with a side salad and it was more than enough for dinner.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a room with a fireplace and near the parking lot. It was very quiet except for t...

The manager, Frank, is a gentle soul. He knew and addressed me by name. We were provided with lots of discount coupons to local restaurant s. The rooms have been rennovated. Although they are very plain, they were extremely clean.

Location: check! Hosts/ 'management': check! Breakfast: check!
Ambience: check! Comfotr/amenities: check! We have been staying here for 7+ years on our way to family in LA.
Have tried other motels nearby and settled happily here. The 90+ pics tell the story.

How many inn keepers/ desk clerks do YOU usually want to pose with? Frank simply Is The Best.

Also wonderful is the international flair provided by the savvy Europeans.

Also -- there is a Hyatt across the street. From there-- you can catch a shuttle (50 cents) (seniors 25 cents) to wharf/ downtown Plus a big airport bus to LAX. I don't know what could possibly be missing!

The room was great, very comfortable bed and nice bathroom.

The property is a bit dated and the pool area nothing special but for the great price it's what you expect. The location is great being just a block back from the beach.

What sets this motel apart is the service. Frank and his partner are incredibly friendly and point out all the top spots to visit. We'll be back for sure

I was a little worried booking at Inn at East Beach BECAUSE it was so expensive... I was worried that the low price and nice website were lures and that I would end up with a not-so-nice hotel. My worries were unfounded. This place was great, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is of course continental, so don't expect eggs benedict or anything, but it surely is good (get there to get the chocolate muffin if you're reaaaallly on vacation!). The room was nice (could get a little hot!). No complaints and in terms of price to deliverance, truly on point!

What they say is what they give. This is a nicely appointed, designer decorated boutique hotel, in a prime location--(1 block to beachfront, 1 block to zoo, walkable along causeway to Stearns Wharf and SB Visitor's Center, as well as, is conveniently bus-accessible to all points downtown). Highly maintained by both Frank and Linda who oversee all details for the Inn and their travelers, this was just right as a secure, clean, convenient haven for 2-nights from the LA sprawl. The overhead ceiling fan is quietly tasteful and gently pulls the ocean breezes into the room. I had the fireplace-plus King size bedroom. The fireplace was mostly used in the cooler mornings when the fog layed low over the mountain tops. The flat screen LG TV was used primarily for "Soundscapes" music, but Cable TV/movies are available as well. Tri-County Wholesale Grocery is 2-blocks away if you want snack or edibles for your room's little refrigerator. Laundry and vending on premises, and Continental breakfast is served...but there are also other options. Ask Frank when you check-in: he knows everything and is the perfect resource for your stay--if traveling solo or with family or as a couple. Just kick back and enjoy!

Room Tip: I found a good deal in the early am hours over the booking.com for the same day stay. I think this...
