We stayed here for one night in September and we loved it here.

Frank, the owner, is incredible. He is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. The free breakfast was also incredible. They had EVERYTHING, it was huge and delicious.
The room was nice and clean - but: it smelled weird :-(
We had a fireplace, TV, fridge, microwave, and free internet access in our room (superior king for $110)

The location is ok. I thought it was closer to the beach, but it was one block away.

Our overall experience was great. We will definately stay here again!

The Inn rated highly in a tour that had covered Chicago, SF, LA, San Diego and Palm Springs. A good location within easy reach of the sea, a 10 minute pleasant walk to the town centre and with the very hospitable Frank at the front desk. His recommendations for dining locally were accurate and helpful, while breakfast at the Inn was good.

The two days days we stayed at The Inn at East Beach were outstanding from check-in to check-out!
The manager could not have been more helpful and friendly from the beginning, the location was perfect and the room was great... fridge and microwave... so handy when traveling with kids! Great continental breakfast too!

The grounds are safe, clean, quiet and ideally located between the SB Zoo and East Beach (playground at beach is nice too!) and a nice walking distance (probably better to drive) to State Street shopping and restaurants, as well as Stearns Wharf where there is a great ocean center/aquarium that is very reasonably priced!

For kid-friendly restaurants nearby, there is an El Torito's and IHOP but the hotel across the street has reasonable room service from "Bistro 1111" and a good kids menu.

What a great find! A really nice, family friendly hotel at such a reasonable price... Spend your $$ on fun things! If weather permits, check out the Surrey rental place down the street...and the beautiful carousel...really fun for the kids!
