Here's the thing: you can't find this place unless you are looking for it. In a quite light industrial neighborhood near downtown, it really is just locals that know a good thing. It reminds me of a supper club experience in the Midwest except the food is better: friendly ambience, lively bar and, as noted, excellent food. Had the lasagna Bolognese--outstanding-- and my wife had some pasta, and we split their house salad, which is fresh and hearty. Nice wait staff, clean, charming inside, bocce ball going on outside. Can't beat this place.

Went back to Arnoldi's for the first time in a few years this week. It was a lovely experience. It got a bit noisy when the bocce players moved inside after their tournament but mostly that just added to the ambience of a friendly happy place. Service was terrific, the traditional Italian food was all nicely prepared and everyone had a great time.

This was just the kind of Italian restaurant we were looking for; away from a shopping day on trendy and loud State Street. Arnoldi's is a family run, family frequented restaurant with a very knowledgeable and efficient wait staff. It was a lovely night and we sat outside. The Italian Sausage was the best my husband has ever had.

I find nothing worse than flying across the entire country to vacation and find myself surrounded by travelers from "back home". Arnoldi's cafe is a locals place with outstanding Italian, good service, a reasonable wine list and 2 bocci courts! We started our Friday evening at Carr Winery for a wine flight and blues in their tasting room about a 2 block walk from Arnoldi's. At Arnoldi's we shared the special of the night, a rabbit ravioli as a starter...most delicate pasta and savory rabbit, even the non-rabbit eater in our party enjoyed a bite. Our group ordered various pasta and veal dishes and all were well received. The server made good suggestions and was attentive but not hovering. Struck up a fun converstaion with locals sitting around us and had a wonderful night sitting outside :courtsde" at Arnoldi's! Can't wait to return!

Simple and charming Arnoldi's is a hidden treasure. If you're in SB don't miss this place. The menu is basic but don't let that fool you. The chef creates some amazingly complex sauces. I've tried his pizza (not on the menu) and every other dish. Love, love love his calamari!!! Make sure to save room for desert.
