“Awesome Chilequilles”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives so had to try it. Some reviews said the people were rude. Our experience was just the opposite. The employees were exceeding kind and polite and the food was phenomenal. I had the chilequilles and they were some of the best I've ever eaten. My husband had the carnitas and those were also quite wonderful.

Place is just a hole in the wall but the food is worth the find. Love, love, love it.

“Greatest Carnitas Ever”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

Lito's take only has 6-7 sit down tables and a small counter to sit at, the food really is great. I had the Carnitas plate which came with rice and beans and corn tortillas,my wife had the Canitas Tostada and both were some of the best Carnitas that we have had in a long time. Lito's is located on a ONE_WAY street, east Haley, so be sure to get on the other side so that you can park on either side of the street, if you pass the MTA bus yard- you just passed Lito's. this was also fetrured on triple D with G.F.... enjoy the food and a great city all at once.

“Everything available for breakfast”
Reviewed March 20, 2012

We stopped here for breakfast at around 8:30a.m. and were happily surprised to find that the entire menu was available and not just the breakfast items. There is a lot on the menu, but because it was so early and we just got off a 5 hour flight from Hawaii and drive from LA, we stuck to something simple...tacos.

The prices were very reasonable, the portions were large, and the food was tasty. We also received complimentary chips and salsa. And, after telling the waitress that we were from Hawaii and saw the restaurant on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, she brought us a serving of carnitas as it was featured on the show.

It's a small restaurant but worth stopping for. Curbside parking right outside. Friendly and generous staff too!

“Huge disappointment!”
Reviewed February 29, 2012

We saw Lito's on Food Network so my husband & I drove over 2 hours because we really wanted to try it! We know good authentic mexican food & we know it is hard to come by. When we pulled up on a Sunday around 11am we noticed it was packed with people which we took as a good sign. It is a very old, small hole in the wall in a bad part of town but we were there for the food not the atmosphere! It had a few crowded tables but it is mainly a take-out place so we took our food to go. Guy raved about their carnitas on the show so that's what I just had to try. I ordered the combo which came with rice, beans & lettuce & tomatoes. Unfortunately the carnitas were hard, too salty & very greasy. The rice was overly seasoned & had an odd flavor. My husband ordered a chile colorado burrito. It was a good size burrito stuffed with rice, beans & meat. The meat was very tender, almost too tender. It had a good flavor but tasted more like barbacoa than chile colorado. The tortilla chips were very thick & hard & salsa lacked flavor. We found Lito's to be overpriced & overrated just because it was featured on Food Network! We were very disappointed!

“Really good food”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

Authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. Small and easy to overlook, but make sure you stop and eat.
