This was a true find in downtown Santa Barbara. We saw the video of their August 2012 exposure on Diners Driveins and Dives and it looked interesting.

Lunchtime was quite popular, but there is a nice outdoor covered patio in the back. You can get food from the soup and salad bar, or order from the deli counter, or have sandwiches made, or order full meals. There is also a "bar", counter space. They had a special - Telegraph California Ale for 3.50

We shared sandwiches - which were huge and well worth the price. The service behind the deli counter was so friendly and helpful as well.
They also have a great breakfast menu (see picture) although we were there for lunch.

We will definitely come back again and again to this find!

My wife and I had a nice lunch at Savoy after the long drive up from San Diego on our way up to Solvang. Especially liked the Quinoa Tabuli side disk that came with our Turkey Sandwich.

We were only in Santa Barbara for one night so had done our research on Tripadvisor for possible lunch spots. We prefer very casual & inexpensive places & when we saw that Savoy was ranked #1 we knew we had to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We ordered the Gaviota sandwich to split, which was a smart decision, along with one of their delicious deli salads. The next day we just had to go back & try a different sandwich & deli salad. This time it was the Gibraltar along with green beans & pesto. Before we left I bought cookies for later that night & sure glad I did. Didn't partake of the salad bar but as reviewers have mentioned, it looked wonderful. Will have to try it on our next visit to Santa Barbara.

The tomato basil soup was creamy and thick, and the beef potato kale soup was hearty and delicious. We took a turkey fritter to go, and will definitely be back for more. The farm cupcake (chocolate and cream cheese) was delectable. All good stuff here!
