We stayed at the West Beach Inn August 6-8, 2008 for our 20th anniversary.
It is a small motel (40 something rooms in all), but well maintained rooms and ground made it feel like a larger hotel.
The room was nice, recently remodeled. We had a harbor view king room at $270.00 midweek, a little pricey, but I guess that's status quo for Santa Barbara for an ocean view room.
The bathroom was SMALL. No place to put your stuff really, but all the fixtures seem fairly new.
There was a bad sulphur smell coming from the toilet due to the "low flow" system they have. Santa Barbara is suffering from a very bad trought so that was understandable and the sulphur smell does come and go.
The breakfast was standard "continental breakfast" fair, criossants, pateries, yogurt, fruit etc. The wine and cheese reception in the late afternoon, early evening was a nice touch.
The pool and jaccuzi are nice and clean.
All in all it was a nice stay and we would definately recommend to friends and family.More
