“Ok for a one night stay”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

We stayed here because we had to be at the airport early the next morning. Great room-although the bathroom did have a dead spider in it with ants crawling on it. Makes me wonder about the maid service??? Motel required a $100 security hold on a credit card. This was not included in the original booking information-one lady walked out while I was checking in because of this. None of the rooms had refrigerators or microwaves. Like other reviews, we could hear the other guests all through the evening. The desk clerk was nice but somewhat frazzled. Not sure why as there weren't many in the lobby. For some odd reason, our room was set up as a handicap room. Never made such a request. The airport was close by and that was nice, but we would not stay here again.

My son and I spent 3 nights at the inn and enjoyed how fast we got anywhere in SB. The place is clean, boasts of a swimming pool and the rooms are spacious. On the downside we heard our neighbours quite well.

Stayed at this hotel with a few friends recently - all 30 something. I say this because there were a lot to college students/summer travellers here. No issues with them though.

Rooms are very basic and not the most clean they could be. Saw a few ants and a huge spider web on the sink, so whoever was supposed to be cleaning must have given this a turbo once-over!
There are very few services at the hotel but the location is convenient

Highly recommend the old fashioned diner across the street for breakfast!

Overall would not stay here again nor recommend

We booked the Orange Tree Inn based on other TripAdvisor ratings - oh dear a mistake on this occasion. Our room felt like a cheap, low class 'motel' and as the night unfolded our worst expectations were met. On returning from dinner we found a large ute backed up under our room with people drinking beer. This was 11.30 at night and whilst the front desk staff curtailed the party under our room the drinkers just relocated to the room next door. With paper thin walls and screeching voices our night was horrible. No sleep until after 3am. Pretty unreasonable. The bed was hard, the pillows were crap. Only 3 pillows, with only one of them being a standard size. In a king size bed? I don't think so. Not within walking distance of anything. All round a complete disappointment. DO NOT stay here.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!!!

This place is typical of a motel, nothing fancy and no extras. There were noises at night which seemed like coming from a nearby bar. Though the staff were friendly and provided prompt service, it was not worth paying the price. The price I paid was similar to that of other good hotels that I've stayed in Santa Barbara. I would not stay again here if I had a choice.

This was a lovely decorated room and the facilities are very well maintained. We noise level was low. Very helpful staff!!! The pool looked inviting though we did not use it. a great place to stay while checking out UCSB.

If we were staying longer, we would have chosen a more upscale place but this was more than o.k. for one night. Check in/out was fast and easy. Rooms were clean and had all the basic amenities (+ a coffee maker). Great location too. The only thing I didn't like was the bed. Super stiff! Also, this place seemed to be popular with younger folk (it's the price, I'm guessing). The walls are thin so when they came back from the bars and decided to blast techno music, it was a little annoying. I managed to (sort-of) sleep through it and not call management. Either way, I would recommend this place.

Room Tip: We stayed on a top floor which had vaulted ceilings. Definitely a nice feature in an "average&q...
