Stayed overnight on the way down to L.A. For the price, this is about as good a motel as your going to get. Comfy bed, decent breakfast included and a warm swimming pool make this an overall good experience for a motel!

Within walking distance of local restaurants too, I recommend THE FISHOUSE for food. Was amazing!

This place was a joke. No air conditioning, just 2 portable fans.Fans did not help because there was no air circulation by the windows. We had to keep our drapes open, so we could possibly feel some air, therefore there was no privacy. Since the drapes had to be open, we were awakened by the bright sunlight. We had to watch every step, so we did not trip on the cords from the fans. The bathroom window was broken and we were given a stick to help hold it up. Still no air circulation even with a fan. The doorknob was broken. Some young man from the front desk came up to our room twice for repairs. The front desk staff was rude. My getaway weekend turned out to be just that. I wanted to get away. The breakfast was awful and all this for a mere $220.00 a night. My car would have been safer. Keep away from this hotel.

Room Tip: Stay away completely

If I had my time again I would book a hotel Downtown Santa Barbara. We found this hotel just a little bit too far to walk several times a day, in and out of town and it is just a little too far away from most restaurants to pop out and and get something to eat of grab a coffee.

The hotel is old and needs a refurb but it was clean and the staff were very nice. We stayed in the middle of a heat wave and had two fans in our room but no air con. Our room was positioned do we really couldn't keep our windows and doors open so our room was shockingly hot and we found it hard to get to sleep.

I guess you get what you pay for. As we are from Australia with a falling dollar and only use our accommodation for sleep we were looking for something under $200 a night with breakfast and this was the best based on reviews we could find. Accommodation is really expensive in Santa Barbara.

Thank you for your recent stay and comments. Yes we are not located downtown which is only 3/4 mile away. There is a waterfront/downtown shuttle that runs daily and longer on the weekends. It costs 50 cents to get to the Pier and then you can get a transfer ticket for no additional cost to go up into downtown Santa Barbara. Our front desk staff always informs our guests about this city service when they ask how to get around without driving. Yes we have experienced very and we mean very unusual hot weather in the high 80's. We have fans in the rooms for cooling when the cool ocean air breeze starts to come in off the ocean later in the day. We have many exterior and interior renovation plans in the future and will be replacing our wall heater units with exterior wall air conditioner/heater units in the near future. We are still considered a great value with a very desirable "East Beach" Oceanfront location even thou we do not have air conditioning on those rare and few days that it is needed.

we had difficult booking a hotel though several months in advance, now realise it was due to town festival. They didnt have our booking via Agoda, but we managed to get a room. The room was out dated, but ok. There was no airco, but a big noisy fan. The pool was ok, and location opposite the beach was very nice. Quite a long walking distance to the harbour. Breakfast ok, but missed cereal.

Room was very dated and not worth it. Only air was a fan in the window. The breakfast consisted off hostess cupcakes and other sweets. There are other budget hotels in the area that are a lot better. We would not stay here again.
