“Great stay!”
Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

Front desk gentleman was very nice, offered wine, and gave us a room with a great view. The hotel is close to attractions and restaurants. The cold springs trail is close by and is a wonderful place to hike. Will definitely come back to this hotel.

This is our third time at this hotel . we like the easy access off 101 and that it has no traffic noise .
The hotel is old style Spanish two story with no elevators . The rooms are very clean , lots of towels , new TV with the latest movie channels and a quiet fridge , don't you hate the growling sound of an overworked fridge when you are tired . the grounds are large and nicely landscaped , with 2 pools and two hot tubs , ice machines are beside the pool . There are three buildings . our choice is the garden view interior buildings on the second floor. All rooms have a covered balcony . There is a Restaurant on site that is ok for breakfast and lunch , the menu was too small for dinner . Down town is only 10 minutes along State street and at the waterfront on the right is tourist info .We were there 3 days and staff treated us well and were very knowledgeable about the area and the sights of Santa Barbara .

Stayed here for one night as part of our honeymoon. This is a small property and the room decor is outdated however it does have everything you could need for a short stay. we were given a room with a pool view which was nice, we had stayed in some big & pricey hotels in the week before staying here & it was the only hotel who had a welcoming bottle of champagne waiting in the room for us. We had a car which was needed as the main shopping street with restaurants etc is a bit of a distance away from the hotel.

We stayed in the beds with double queen beds. Luckily, we got a room that was towards the back. I feel sorry for those that have to walk out the door and face Macy's from across the street. I recommend asking for a mountain view or a room by the pool and jacuzzi. For the price you pay, take advantage of them!

We got more goodies than other places like fresh fruit and robes. I've stayed in hotels/motels of all conditions so these little things make this hotel go higher on my list.

It's a few miles from the harbor/downtown area so having your own car would be wise. The staff was nice and gave us helpful information and even offered to call a taxi if we didn't want to drive.

It's right off the 101 and 154 which was great for us since we took a day to explore Solvang and Los Olivos.

Room Tip: If you want to use the pool, ask for a bottom room since there's a glass door that leads to the...

The Pepper Tree Inn was a great hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave a map of Santa Barbara with hidden treasures and must see attractions. This helped us map out our stay and create a to do list while in Santa Barbara. The location was geat being located right across the street from a great mall. The room had great little extras in case you forgot something. It was aparrent that they thought of everything and have worked hard on ensuring all the little details were covered. The room itself had these retro glass windows that brought great memories of a long lost childhood. This dedication to classic elegance is what sets Santa Barbara aside from other destinations and is that gives guest of the Pepper Tree Inn the feeling of a true Santa Barbara stay.

Your stay will be highlighted by rooms from the 80's and decor from the 90's. Everyone who worked there was incredibly helpful and friendly. There is an on site dinner that also wants to be a sports bar. I think it missed the mark on both counts. You know you are in Santa Barbara when you are spending $200 a night for a $79 motel, and the Pepper Tree Inn is that motel. It is not that close to downtown or the water. It is across the street from a large shopping mall if that is why you are visiting Santa Barbara.
