Cheshire Cat Inn has a great location. Walking distance to downtown and fine dining. It is beautifully decorated and all the rooms are unique. The two inn keepers are friendly and aim to make your stay pleasurable. The food is delicious! The grounds are beautifully landscape.
I look forward to staying at the Cheshire Inn whenever I am in Santa Barbara, I feel like I am visiting good friends. It is peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Once you get past the cost, this is a great place to stay. We stayed for 3 nights on the weekend of the UCSB graduation, and this is probably the worst weekend of the year to get a room in Santa Barbara. And really, the cost is not unusual for Santa Barbara, either.

It is in a fairly quiet residential area, and not far from the 101. The rooms are well done and mostly keep to the theme, although we had a couple of pictures of New Orleans and I don't know what New Orleans has to do with Alice in Wonderland.

The breakfasts were great and they were very accomodating as we had to leave 1 day before breakfast was served so they left out some things we could take with us. The wine receptions were very good, too, we definitely enjoyed them! They also leave out cookes and brownies to snack on in the evening.

The room was large and very comfortable, we slept very well.

One minor point is that their parking is not big enough for all of their guests, so some have to park on the street. And the street out front is only 90 minute parking.

We really enjoyed our stay and will stay here again when we are in the area.

Room Tip: Rooms are all individual, the biggest question is probably if you can handle stairs. Our room was sp...

My Wife and I are repeat guests at Cheshire. We have never stayed at a place in Santa Barbara that made us feel soooo comfortable and welcome!Cheshire is no longer a Bed and Breakfast for us,but has become a favorite Vacation Home!We love the location that provides peace and quiet along with tranquile beauty. The landsapes around cheshire are marvelous.Staying at Cheshire, you can be completely on your own with privacy or you can involve yourself with the staff. After our stay in the Summers,we start thinking about our return for the next Year ahead.Cheshire Inn will always be in our Plans for the rest of our lives!
If you find yourself with complaints at cheshire then you probably belong at Motel 6 and we would gladly help you on your way.

The Cheshire Cat is gem of hospitality that never disappoints! We've been coming here a couple of times a year for over 15 years now....... The rooms are lovely (decorated with attention to updated details and uber clean) and the staff is gracious and all knowing about things Santa Barbara. The breakfasts are varied and delicious. The location is perfect for walking - whether it be just to enjoy the tree lined streets of stately homes or to get to shopping or dinner on State Street. The garden is lush and relaxing -- the perfect spot to enjoy their complimentary afternoon wine and hor d'oeuvres with a good book. The Innkeepers make every effort to enhance your stay -- They are a delight. As ever, we look forward to our next visit --

The Cheshire Cat is a lovely B&B - really lovely. There is a 'but', but I'll save that for later.

The house is very nicely laid out with beautiful gardens and a lovely outdoor jacuzzi. The Alice in Wonderland theme really makes the place different and there are loads and loads of little touches that all add up to make a stunning interior design.

Our room, the Cheshire Cat, was beautiful with great bold red theme throughout. The bed and bathroom were on slightly separate levels which creates a really nice aesthetic.

Breakfast is a vegetarian affair, but with plenty of choice to ensure you leave with a full belly.

Now, the 'but'. Our room, whilst being lovely was downstairs, next door to the kitchen and with a door that opened out directly onto the breakfast area. This means that when the kitchen kicks into action in the morning, you wake up. When people start moving around in the breakfast area, you wake up.

I think the Cheshire Cat room is the only room to be affected by this - other rooms are either upstairs or in the adjacent building.

We were only there for a couple of nights, but I think it might have been a bit annoying if we'd been there for a few days.

It is a lovely place; really lovely. The location of the Cheshire Cat room is a little unfortunate.

Bharti, the lady that looks after the place in the afternoon, is really lovely!

I'd definitely stay here again, but I would choose a different room.

Room Tip: Cheshire Cat room is noisy just before and during breakfast due to proximity to kitchen and breakfas...

We stayed at the Cheshire Cat in in 2010 and had to come back. The service continues to be excellent, all of the Innkeepers are extremely helpful and go out of their way to make you feel like family. The rooms are clean and now have flat screen tv's and wireless connection. Continental breakfast during the week, fruit, cereal, toast, and there are always homemade scones or something similiar. Hot breakfast on the weekend, happy hour with wine and snacks in the afternoon.
Great location, short walk to State street which has many shops, restaurants, etc...Love the location because it is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of State Street so you can relax in the evenings. The grounds were very well maintained and the flowers were beautiful.

Room Tip: We prefer the Alice room because of the beautiful view of the Santa Yanez mountains from your balcon...

The delightfulness of the surroundings was only exceeded by the graciousness of our hosts. Our room was beyond our wildest expectations. It was clean, open, airy, energetic and delightful with the fireplace and jacuzzi like frosting on a delicious cake. We felt this was a very unique and special home away from home. The grounds were exquisitely tailored for a romantic getaway. The hosts, of course were helpful and gracious. And we had many fascinating and interesting conversations with the other guests.

There was a fresh and tasteful selection at breakfast and snack times. The center of town was within easy walking distance. We hope your stay will be as memorable as ours.

Room Tip: The Mock Turtle is a corner room with lots of windows, light, and blue. The Doormouse is quaint in...
