Just came back from 1night stay. Hotel looks so much better on website. Happy hour is cheap wine and stale crackers. Breakfast is better at Motel. Very pricey and mgmt not understanding. Toilet ran all night and mgmt said we should have gotten up during middle of night and looked for someone to fix. Don't stay there. Waste of money.

The hotel is very well located, one block from the beach and the harbor. You have lots of flowers around you.
Our balcony king room was big, clean (perhaps too clean as there was an awful smell of bleach in the room) and nicely decorated with flat screen TV. The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is very decent in the morning (bread, bagel, muffins, orange juice, coffee or tea). The staff is friendly.
I think this is a good hotel if you want to stay one night or two near the beach.

The hotel room looks exactly like what they look like in the pictures. Very clean, duvet covers on down comforters, flat screen TVs, blue, brown and white color scheme. This was a great deal for $180 a night, one hotel seperates you from the beach. The neighborhood is quite with lots of flowers and birds - very relaxing, but at the same time you are walking distance from restaraunts and State Street. There is wine and cheese in the afternoon and breakfast in the morning in the common area. I go to Santa Barbara all the time and will stay here again.

We stayed there for 2 nights, sat and sunday with our 2 dogs. The queen size room was a little small, but clean with white comfy beds. Every room has new flat screen TVs. The hotel is close to the beach, across the street. It worked out perfectly because we brought our boat with us to drive to Catalina, and we were able to park our boat and truck which was 40 feet , at the launch across the street (for a fee). But the convenieince was great. The walk to state street was not very far and there are many restaraunts nearby not to mention the waterfront is just across the street. They had a simple breakfast set up in the mornings and wine and cheese at night which was nice. The staff were super nice. On our way back from Catalina a week later ( after a grueling 11 hours trek acrosss the Pacific), I called with a 3 hour notice and they were able to lodge us that night without a booost in their rates. Again, the staff were very nice and polite. This room was smaller than the first, but after a day like we had, we didint care, and the beds were so comfortable. T o top it off they had fresh flowers in the room. We would definately stay there again, although a pool would be a nice addition.

Stayed one night at the Casa Del Mar for our anniversary. The location is excellent if you want to be near the beach. It's a little far from the main downtown area, but there's ample parking downtown so it's not an issue. Cool interior design, very modern. Lots of ample space in the room and in the closet. We brought our dog and the place was pet-friendly. Linens are very comfortable! Would definitely consider returning in the future.

  • Liked — Location, modern yet comfortable interior design
  • Disliked — Depending on your room, you may be near sidewalks and can hear people walking around outside.

This was a great little hotel. Very good location and the bed was comfy. The room was cute - very large bathroom. I could see how some rooms would not be ideal (located right next to hotel lobby etc) but we had one (rm 33) that was very private and nice.

The hotel staff was nice and we enjoyed the wine and cheese happy hour.

Would definitely stay there again.

The location of this inn is ideal - close to everything.

The biggest turnoff for me was that the room was so dark. I had no idea whether the sun was shining or not, even with both blinds open. One window looked onto the sidewalk and one was covered by a tree. It was a lovely surprise to walk out in the morning and see the sun when I suspected it was gloomy and overcast.

As we stayed a Thursday and Friday night in the off-season, parking was not an issue for us, but I can see how it could be during a weekend summer.

The room reeked of bleach when we checked in but after a few hours with the windows open the smell was replaced by the lovely fragrance of the flowers growing outside the window (not sure what they were but they smelled lovely!)

Complimentary breakfast was stale danishes and store bought bagels with brown bananas and cereal. One the second day we went next door to Sambo's for breakfast and enjoyed it very much.

On the plus side, the grounds were immaculate and the staff was friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the room was stylishly decorated.
