Bath Street Inn is our all-time favorite B&B. My husband and I prefer to stay in B&Bs when we travel and we always look forward to our stays at the Bath Street Inn. The ever gracious and friendly inn keepers, Marie, Deborah and Vicki, maintain this lovely restored Victorian home and we always feel at home. Breakfast, enjoyed on the vine covered garden patio, is always a gourmet threat. The hospitality does not end with breakfast - there is an afternoon tea followed by a wine and cheese social hour. Striking up conversations with fellow guests is not mandatory, but always adds interest to our visits. With its convenient location and free off-street parking, we enjoy our walks to State Street. We always leave the Bath Street Inn refreshed and renewed.

Room Tip: Our favorite is still the Abigail Room

How pleasant to find such a quaint, cheery, hospitable establishment that expressly caters to the wants and needs of all its travelers. The rooms are lovely, the staff is gracious and the food--oh my! We were treated to yummy desserts, wine, cheese and crackers and a full and hearty breakfast that sated us beyond measure. I loved eating out on the tree covered patio. I want to come back!

Our stay at the Bath Street Inn was flawless! The room, tea time, snacks, the hot breakfast, the ambiance, and especially the staff were outstanding. The balcony was lovely!! You will not go wrong in choosing this B&B in Santa Barbara. We hope to return in the future.

Room Tip: The Balcony Room has some low ceiling spots, but they will tell you about it before to choose it. W...

We had a wonderful experience at the Bath St Inn. Marie and Debbie were so hospitable, nothing was any trouble to them. The food was excellent, we could eat as much as we needed. The afternoon cakes were fantastic, we sampled them all!
We had the balcony room on the 2nd floor. It was perfect for our needs. There are a few tight angles in the room, but Debbie made sure we were aware of this before we arrived. My husband is 5' 10", he didn't have a problems.
Situated in a perfect area to explore Santa Barbara. About a 20 min walk to Sate Street ( top end).
Thank you Marie and Debbie for such an enjoyable stay.

This was our first experience in a B & B so we really didn't know what to expect but we found it to be a delightful experience. Each of the rooms is named after a flower or tree and there are many flowers and flowering trees on the property. Other reviews have described the house itself and the neighborhood and we would concur. We had a ground-floor room ("Wisteria") in what was probably the garage at one time. It was a "girly" room in the sense of floral wallpaper and bedspread, etc. (I hear that most B & Bs are decorated for the feminine taste.) It had a Jacuzzi tub in the room and a built-n AC unit. This came in handy as we happened to hit town just as a record setting heat wave descended upon Santa Barbara. Air conditioning is rarely needed in SB, even in the summer, as the ocean breezes typically keep the town's daytime temps in the 70s. But not every room has an AC unit so be sure to check this amenity if it is important to you.

The morning breakfasts were incredibly delicious -- each day is a different recipe and the inn uses fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. The breakfast typically started with homemade granola, yogurt, and fruit with your choice of coffee, tea, or orange juice or all three! Then the entre was served and you were free to linger over coffee or tea as long as you wished or be up and about your planned activities for the day. There is a shaded patio between the back of the house and the rooms in (what I think was) the former garage. Due to the nice weather, everyone ate outside at tables that seated two to four people each. You could be as friendly or as private as you wished. Seating was anytime between 8 and 9:30 a.m and was not the "everyone sit at the same table and get to know one another" that I have read of at other B & Bs. Other reviews have well described the afternoon tea with cookies and cakes and various drinks. There is also an early evening wine and cheese serving but we never managed to be there for that as there is much to see and do in S.B.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it to others. It is probably best suited for couples and single adults as the rooms are not really large enough for children. (I don't know what the inn's policy is on children; they may not encourage them and I would support that policy as there were some steep stairs and some breakable knick-knacks and no fenced yard or play area. I think parents would not enjoy their stay if they had to worry about their children constantly.)

Room Tip: There are three levels (floors) in the house and two in the separate rear building. There is no elev...

The Inn is a charming Victorian house in a quiet neighborhood, within walking distance of several excellent restaurants. The room we had was the smallest one in the house, but was perfectly fine for us--clean, well-maintained, and nicely decorated. The Inn has home-made cakes, cookies, tea, coffee and lemonade available in the common area, every day around the clock. In the evenings, wine and cheese. The breakfasts are excellent and can, if you want, be taken in the pleasant outside patio. Vickie, who was there for most of our stay, provided great recommendations for restaurants, touring, and, in particular, the nearby "Lotusland"--an absolutely amazing and beautiful botanical garden we would not otherwise have known about.

This was my third time staying at the Bath Street Inn, so you know that I love this place. It is an old Victorian house with quaint rooms and charming decor. Although many of the rooms are small and some could use a little updating, the fabulous service and incredibly friendly staff more than make up for it. The food is hard to beat: wonderful, fresh-baked breakfasts, wine & cheese in the afternoons and cakes and cookies all evening! There is wifi, which was important to me. However, if tv is important to you (which to me it wasn't) this is probably not the place for you. The inn is located in a nice residential neighborhood but is still relatively close to downtown. I will be back on my next trip to Santa Barbara!

Room Tip: The stairs to the second and third floors are very narrow and relatively steep. Keep this in mind i...
