“Welcoming the minute you arrive! From David and Michelle”

This is our second visit to the Bath St Inn. We had a very pleasant stay once again. Marie is very sweet and make you feel welcome the minute you arrive. We stayed in the Country Suite which is very comfortable and roomy. My husband David made me dinner , it has a nice kitchen with everything you need. The fireplace kept the room cozy at night. It also has a large Jacuzzi Bath! It was so relaxing after a night on the town. The Inn is located close to State Street which has everything! The beach is nearby as well for a lovely lunch on the Pier. The staff (who treats you like family) prepare a delicious Breakfast Daily. We have Tea in the afternoon with many desserts and end the evening with Wine and cheese and crackers. You won't be dissapointed.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the garden room which is cozy, but the Country Suite is much larger and very roomy...

We and very close friends of ours visited Santa Barbara over New Year's for a wine tasting adventure in the Santa Ynez Valley. We arrived at Bath Street Inn on New Year's Day and immediately felt as if we had arrived at our second home! Deborah greeted us and made us feel so welcomed. The house was quiet and it seemed as if we had the entire B&B to ourselves. The bedrooms were quaint and charming, just as they looked online. After an evening in town, we returned to find a table spread with desserts, tea and coffee! We had no other choice but to sit by the fireplace and enjoy a hot cup of tea. It was wonderful. The next morning was a treat. There was the morning paper waiting to be read and then breakfast in the nearby room where we were waited upon and served the most delicious meal! We could never again stay at the nearby motel and definitely plan on returning when the wisteria are in bloom! Thanks Deborah and Marie for taking such good care of us!

My husband and I try to stay here around Valentine's Day every year -- our present to each other. It feels like home, except we get waited on, too! The elegant presentation of afternoon tea, evening wine and cheese and scrumptious breakfast the next morning make it feel like a week-long vacation -- in less than 24 hours!

This was my first trip to Santa Barabara, and the Bath Street Inn made it well worth the visit. The accommodations were lovely, and albeit our room was quite small, it had everything we needed and added to the quaintness of our experience. The propietor and chef were very gracious and a delight to chat with, and the afternoon pastries and breakfasts were top notch. We will definitely be returning!

Bath Street Inn had everything we needed. We were in town for a family wedding. My back had gone out just before the trip, so I was on lock down at Bath Street for most of our trip. The staff was so sweet. They asked about any allegies and had gluten & dairy free bread and desserts available for us. They were so accomodating when it came to any extra things we may have needed. The rooms are small, but they're cozy & comfortable. But, we've traveled all over the world, so, we're use to fitting into all types of rooms. Overall, we loved Bath Street Inn.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a fire place and a bath tub.

Bath Street Inn is a charming, moderately priced bed and breakfast in Santa Barbara with too many shortcomings. It is located on a pretty street just north of downtown and the decor in the common area is lovely. However, there is not much else to say about the property that is positive. All of the rooms are very small, and some are miniscule. We were shown one room in which the entire bathroom, including sink and shower, was located inside the very small bedroom. Only the toilet was located in a separate "room" in what must have been a small closet. The room we took did not even have room for a nightstand on both sides of the very small double bed and did not have a clothes closet. The bathroom was similarly very small. Although the room contained a double bed, presumably to accomodate two people, my husband and I had a difficult time moving around in our room, which was billed as one of the largest. Like many B & B's, the Inn serves wine and cheese in the late afternoon and breakfast the following morning. The wine and cheese couldn't have been of lower quality and the breakfast was hardly better. All in all, although not an expensive place in a very expensive market, the Bath Street Inn leaves much to be desired.

It is so very clear we were not a match for these guests, and we are genuinely sorry they were not comfortable and didn't enjoy their stay. We would have been happy to release them from their reservation and return their money had we known we weren't a good choice for them. No place will ever be a match for everyone, but it is clear from so many other reviews that we are a very good match for many people.

It is true that some of the rooms are smaller than others, and that seems to be a key factor for these guests. Actually the room where they stayed had a standard queen bed, (we do not have any double beds), and there was a full size closet in the bathroom. It is actually a very popular room with many guests having really enjoyed it including some return guests who repeatedly request it.

Obviously, they did not care for the cheeses. We serve a very good quality Jarlsberg Swiss, Danish Havarti and a fine Tillamook Cheddar. The wine is not an expensive wine, but we have had any number of people return from wine tasting in the Santa Ynez valley and tell us it is the best white wine they've had all day. Also, as is clear from innumerable reviews, most of our guests find our breakfasts quite good and/or outstanding as well as all our homemade baked goods.

My husband and I stayed here as the start to our baby moon. It was so cozy and welcoming that upon arrival, we couldn't bring ourselves to go out again for dinner. The inn keepers were incredibly accommodating, providing plates and allowing us to set up in the dining area with our take-out.

Note for pregnant women: the teatime treats stay out over night in case you need a midnight snack. Big plus!

Room was very cozy and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious! Only drawbacks were some noise from the next room in the morning, but only because of an unhappy toddler and it certainly didn't keep us up at night.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms seem to be where kids go.
