“Cosy homestay in Santa Barbara”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

Had a lovely stay here as part of our Californian road trip. If you enjoy staying in a traditional B&B this is a great choice. We had an attic style room which was very cosy. The 24hr coffee and cakes were beyond tempting as were the breakfasts. Lovely not to be in a hotel but to feel part of the neighbourhood in Santa Barbara. Sit on the porch with a slice of cake.

We recently stayed at the Bath Street Inn for 2 nights. When we can, we love to stay at B&B's for the wonderful atmosphere and personal touch and the Bath Street Inn did not let us down. We stayed in the Wedgewood Room which was adorable. From the corner of the window, you could look out and see the beautiful mountains. Marti welcomed us and we enjoyed talking with her. The food was absolutely delicious. There was afternoon tea with homemade cakes and cookies, wine and cheese served in the early evening and I could go on and on about the delicious breakfasts! We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.

My husband and I spent four nights at the Bath Street Inn in mid-August. What made our stay so special was the warm hospitality that the owners gave to all the guests. They went out of their way to address us by our names, chatted with us about local attractions and restaurants, and cooked the most amazing breakfasts. The location of the Inn was also attractive--we walked to State Street each evening for dinner. While our room was rather small (which really didn't bother us) it was comfy and quiet. The only drawback was the bath, also very small with a clawfoot bathtub--charming but a bit difficult to get in and out of.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the garden since it's quieter. If mobility is an issue, ask for a room with...

My mom and I have been coming home to the Bath Street Inn every summer for the last ten years. The inn keepers Marie and Deborah are like family to us, and always greet us with warmth and hospitality. They get to know each of their guests and truly make the experience a wonderful get-away. In addition to being great hostesses who are passionate about their guests, they are also magnificent historians who are very knowlegeable about Santa Barbara and the vicinity. We love the coziness of the inn, with each room decorated in its own style. There is nothing better than afternoon tea in the garden with delicious, home made desserts. Breakfast is always delicious. The fabulous aroma of coffee, peach-stuffed French toast, and banana muffins that waft through the house in the early morning is indescribable! The Bath Street Inn is the best Bed and Breakfast in Santa Barbara, without a doubt. We will continue to be loyal guests and can't wait to return next August.

I had a wonderful stay at the Bath Street Inn. I highly recommend if you are in the Santa Barbara area to give this place a look instead of the typical four wall hotel room. The staff are very welcoming and love to chat about the area and gave great suggestions of places to check out in the area. The room was great with mountain views, very clean and a great whirlpool bathtub. The breakfast was heavenly. I have an allergy to milk and soy, and the staff accomodated this by baking special baked goods and breakfast items that I could eat. They had emailed me before my stay to found out what types of food I could and could not eat, which made me feel right at home and showed they really cared about the people staying with them. The patio was also lovely, and my little room balcony was a wonderful place to sit after a day of sight seeing. They also have parking on the premises.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Susan Loft, which has great views of the mountains, and a gentle breeze from the oce...

What a beautiful, charming bed and breakfast. Certainly one of the most wonderful we have ever stayed at. The owners are so delightful and made us feel so welcome. The morning breakfast is a feast. The afternoons were filled with scrumpious deserts and wine and cheese. We felt like royalty! We will most definitely go back again!

Room Tip: We were in the beautiful 'Country Suite" which included a kitchen which we really didn'...

Marie and Deborah are welcoming, warm and hospitable. The inn is homey and quaint inside and out, including the wonderful little outdoor patio where we enjoyed relaxing, delicious, and filling breakfasts. We loved coming back 'home' in the afternoons from a day of sightseeing to enjoy delectable home-baked cakes, cookies, etc., with tea or lemonade; and then wine, cheese and crackers a bit later. There are plenty of cozy little tables and chairs where two can enjoy quiet time together, or it's nice to sit near and chat with other guests as well. They also left out coffee, tea and the baked goodies in the dining room all night for guests to grab late-night snacks. The home has retained it's old-fashioned charm with 3 levels; so if stairs are an issue for you, I suggest a downstairs room.
