Description: Established in 1985, The Palace Grill is a Santa Barbara landmark restaurant featuring authentic New Orleans-inspired cuisine and a fun, lively atmosphere. Winner of The Santa Barbara's Independent Reader's Poll for "Best Restaurant Service". Located in Santa Barbara's charming Old Town district, The Palace Grill has something for everyone. Our menu features a wide range of contemporary American Grill items with a focus on authentic Southern and Louisiana specialties such as Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, New Orleans Bar-B-Que Shrimp, Blackened Filet Mignon, and delicious daily "Menu Additions". In addition we have a number of exciting Caribbean dishes and a line of Creole-Italian pastas. To insure that we remain authentic, the Palace routinely flies its staff to New Orleans to experience first-hand the magical quality of the city that has inspired the spirit of the Palace Grill. The Palace has been featured in dozens of national publications including Gourmet(R) Magazine, Bon Appetit(R) and USA TODAY(R). Throughout the years, The Palace has also been a favorite of culinary legends (including chef Julia Child and chef Wolfgang Puck) and has served its cuisine to countless global dignitaries - including 5 U. S. Presidents. At the Palace Grill, everyone shares one goal: to give our guests the most extraordinary dining experience possible: every time they visit. Besides our wonderful cuisine, The Palace is known for it's unique style of "Team Service" (which the Nation's Restaurant News called "an idea whose time has come") and our nostalgic nightly staff and guest Sing-A-Long to Louis Armstrong's iconic song - "What A Wonderful World." Come join the celebration known as "The Palace Grill Experience."

On our first night in SB, we decided to try this restaurant based on the good reviews. There is a free 2h parking lot behind the restaurant which was very handy, We had to wait 15min for a table as there was a line, but we were entertained by a street band outside who kindly gave me and my husband jackets as we (tourists) were freezing without a jacket! The staff at the restaurant were super nice and knowledgable. She gave us good recommendations for food. They gave us a basket of cornbread to start off with. These were so so good! It was warm and soft and had 5 different flavours! I had the crawfish popcorn which was amazing and the bread pudding was heavenly. In the middle of dinner, they gave out a song book and the song "What a wonderful World" came on and the whole restaurant sang along! The wait staff went round to the all the tables, clink classes with the guests and thanked us for coming. We will definitely visit again if we are in SB!

We were recommended this place by our hotel and it did not disappoint.
We made a last minute booking for early evening and arrived just after the restaurant had opened. It was full and buzzing from the off. Great staff creating a fabulous atmosphere and great knowledge of the menu and daily specials. I have a nut allergy and always feel slightly awkward and nervous in new places, but our waitress reassured me and took every care of my menu choices to ensure they were safe for me.
The food was fresh and cooked to perfection in an open kitchen with a great menu choice. (Beware the portions are large!)
We were given a song sheet early into service and the whole place joined in with a brief sing along where each and every member of staff came round all the tables and greeted and toasted each individual. Great fun, and a really nice touch.
Fabulous food, fabulous atmosphere and we had a really lovely evening here.

While waiting for dinner, we enjoyed the little New Orleans style combo that entertained everyone waiting in line. The pork chop dinner, which we shared, was fabulous. We'll come back to this restaurant again.

It's noisy in here, but lots of fun and the food is excellent. We loved everything we had and the bread pudding soufflé is a must! The martinis are excellent too.

The food was good but not outstanding. The service was very goof and the muffins served with th salad were very good. We did not try the desert but it looked very good.
