My mom and I heard about this place from The Food Network, and it was worth the drive from our hotel in SB. We went for dinner, and almost ordered rack of elk (it sounded so interesting!) They have delicious food and atmosphere to boot. This is not the beach-y Santa Barbara that most people come to expect. It feels like a hunting lodge. Delicious food and scenery to boot!

My wife and I were visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Santa Barbara. We dined here the last night we were in town after hitting area wineries. We will never forget it. Great food, awesome service, and wonderful atmosphere.

This will be a must stop on future visits to SB.

We went for breakfast on a sunday morning. The drive up was wonderful, fairly close to SB or Goleta. Parking is located off the side of the road. The running water, trees makes this a great spot. The atmosphere is unlike anything we've seen. Upon entry, the fireplace was blazing and a nice hint of wood smoke filled the air. Cozy!
The food was very good. Had the country fried steak with the toast. Very tasty. Others in our party had the flapjacks and two eggs plates. After breakfast, we could see and smell the preparation for lunch. They were cooking stuff over a wood BBQ outside. We almost wanted to stay for lunch too!
Everyone really liked the food, but the setting is well worth the drive. This was our first time, but not our last.

What a place! The restaurant has game on the menu, good beer on draft and a herd of bikers (tame?) down the street at the bar.
