“Extraordinary place. Worth a trip”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

I went to see Natalie Noone one night and Jeff Bridges another night! This is a wonderful spot and is pure AMERICAN. Impossible to explain, but anyone who is interested in how America used to work, should visit this stagecoach stop and just revel in the beauty of what used to be!!!!

“Lots of Character”
Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I had lunch here yesterday to try the tri-tip sandwich our friends had told us about. The drive there is really spectacular and the setting is unique.

This place feels the way it probably did at the turn of the century: A big fire in the fireplace as you enter and gas lamps on the table. Very quaint.

Service and food were both good. I'm glad we gave this place a shot.

“"Neatest Place Ever"”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Cold Spring Tavern is actually about 20 miles North of Santa Barbara off of 154. The place is an old stagecoach stop, off of "Stagecoach Road". My wife found this place on Trip Advisor, and I am so glad she did. The original building is from the 1880's and the bar has been around since 1932. There is an awesome stone fireplace and the whole place reeks of history! We stopped for a cold beer but there was a wait to get in the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon (not a bad sign). As well they sell tri-tip BBQ sandwiches in the back. The table next to us had them and they looked delicious!
An eclectic group of customers from bikers to families but no one felt uncomfortable. I just loved the feel of this place and wish the walls could talk, for the stories they could tell.
Recommend for the experience.

“the America we lost”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

Great place if you're interested in history, especially Old West. If you like a good hamburger, steak and chili, that's the place. Don't forget to make a reservation on the weekend. We went for Saturday lunch, and it was packed.

“A Trip Back in Time”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

We'd come to Santa Barbara for the seafood, the coast and the wine. Being from the mountains of Colorado we certainly looking for an Old West Stage Stop for dinner. Yet that's what we found. This is no Walt Disney faux western setting. This is legit. The food and service were solid, boardering on exceptional, but the star of the night was the setting. Make the 20 minute trip from SB. You won't be disappointed.
