“Old and Historic! Very Rustic!”

If you are looking for posh fine dining, forget it. If you are looking for a great trip back in time and great food, you'll love it.

“Travel back 150 years”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Take a beautiful 20 minute drive out of Santa Barbara into the mountains to a former stage coach stop. It's all just as it was then. The food is very good as is the service. On weekends there's music and it's very busy. Go during the week for a mellow afternoon or evening, have a meal and then wander around and imagine how it was when the stage coach stopped here with hungry, weary passengers.

“Old Rustic Stagecoach Stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Very rustic, off the road restaurant. Very popular and very busy. Reservations a must. Original site of an 1850's stagecoach stop. Buildings very old and rustic. If you are looking for wallpaper, chandeliers, china and silver you are definitely in the wrong place. Wooden floors, wooden walls, no wall paper and absolutely nothing fancy including the furnishings. We were a party of 8 adults with reservations. A large number of people were waiting outside to enter. We were promptly seated at our appointed time. Drink orders and "breads" were served. Even with the "full house" our meals for 8 were promptly serverd by at least 3 servers assisted by the manager. The food was well prepared and presented. It was a very good experience and the rustic experience was enjoyed by our entire party. It was a fun time and the pleasant staff made it that much more enjoyable. Again, don't even think about going without a reservation.

100 year old stagecoach stop unchanged since back in the day. Better than average food. Friendly staff.
