Well people usually come here do the view while Drinking . Got a dirty martini and blended margarita ( they're not good with cocktails)... Just order beer. Foods below average.... We came just to have drinks with friends and look at the ocean view.... Its okay but not amazing... Angie

More than just a place to get a burger, Longboards is well suited for the college aged beach-going crowd, but can accommodate families, too. The decor is surf-based, and the theme carries through, but there are delicious items on the menu--we usually split the fish and chips for our younger grandchildren. No 'library voice' necessary here, it's rowdy, and there's a great view of the city and the harbor, with lots of action taking place as boats pass by alongside the pier.

Upstairs at the Harbor House, the closest restaurant on the wharf, Longboards offers a view of water on 3 sides. The food is disappointing, but not the view. Good for families, sunset dining or those looking to get their drink on.

Excellent time, despite the somewhat higher prices for the offerings. Lunch for 2, with a couple drinks and tip was $60. Maybe that's understandable based on location - the place is on the pier in Santa Barbara, a VERY expensive travel destination. Ok, I get that. But the view and ambiance can't be beat. I mean seriously, your out over the Pacific ocean on the pier. Service was ok in the restaurant, nothing spectacular. Service on the outside upper deck (for drinks and a snack) was MUCH BETTER.

we dined at the Longboard on Stearns Wharf rather than venture up State Street. We had no trouble getting seated with a view of the harbor. The dress upstairs is casual and the usual tvs were blasting away. The menu is fairly wide and interesting. The service was quick but sadly the food was not up to what one would expect from a seafood restaurant. Three in our party ordered mahi-mahi and each piece was exactly the same size and shape, obviously frozen fish. The plate was swimming in fries, and the cole slaw was crisp, neither was enough to make up for the tasteless fish. I would not recommend the new england clam chowder as it lacked any flavor that would hint at new england roots. Santa Barbara is blessed with many restaurants of higher quality so a walk up State Street after you enjoy the view from the pier is suggested.
