“Looks aren't everything”

At first glance you'll question the reviews. Persona looks like a typical food court pizza stop. Flat screen Menus (yikes), Foamcore Photos (cheesy) and a dizzying non-purists "Design your own Pizza" line up of ingredients. Fortunately the Pizza actually represents what solid Naples style Pizza IS all about minus the Chipotle Chicken that is. Terrific crust-not over topped-cooked fast and hot. I'd ask for well cooked version next time since I like a little Italian oven scorch but honestly they do it right despite the lack of ambiance. $7.00 for a Margherita that serves two nicely is stupid cheap let alone it's good damn good and I'd put this pie up against any legit wood fired pizza. If you like CPK you'll like this better and if you've had real elastic Pizza from the homeland you'll squeal with joy.

“Xlnt pizza”

I don't like thick crust, this place nails it. The cute gal outside selling the place to the personable staff inside make it work...fresh ingredients and the 90second cook time...YES!!!

“GLUTEN FREE PIZZA”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2013

They had great gluten free pizza. Charging $5 extra just for gluten free crust is a bit outrageous. Gluten free pizza is better than the regular pizza. Good selection of toppings.

They are very skimpy on topping and extra sauce though...

“Fantastic Pizza - Ordering could be streamlined...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

We have been to Persona Pizzeria multiple times - because the pizzas are the best we've had since Gusta in Florence and Punch in Minneapolis.
That is where the similarities in experiences stop.
First, does someone really need all of those choices? This only slows down the process; it takes longer to order than for your pizza to cook.
Second, the glass that separates you from the person making your pizza is lower than your face, can you say sneeze??
Third, once you order your pizza, you then step to the first register where you have to repeat what you've just told the pizza maker. At this point, you think you would pay. Not so... you are asked what you ordered and whether you would like anything else. THEN, you go to the final register, where you tell the person there what you would like to drink.
What needs to happen here is an industrial engineer visit - things could be done much more efficiently.
It sort of reminds me of a tart yogurt place in town (no names) where you have to wait behind someone while they can't make up their mind what toppings they want.
The pizza is FABULOUS!! I wish they would simply offer 5 -7 types of traditional Neapolitan style pizzas, no silly business.

“Inexpensive and delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

We went with friends who were in Santa Barbara like us to look at UCSB over spring break. The place is quick and efficient. Grab a seat when you come in.

The pizza style is thin, think very thin, crust like the type of pizza you get for an appetizer or quick snack in Italy. One personal pizza is really what they call it. While it's 12", due to the thin crust, you can eat the whole thing. I made the mistake of ordering a margherita to share with my son and he ate the whole thing even though he wasn't hungry. Good thing I got a Roma salad. And good thing that they close late, because after a few hours we went back and got another magherita to share.

While we were there the second time, they closed and still served two customers after the ten o'clock closing time. All smiles, no groans.

They also have Italian style gelato, not exactly like the real thing, but good enough for government work.
